The eighteenth chapter is a brief one. We jump to Yuko, who just saw Shuya yanking the hatchet out of Tatsumichi’s head. It really seems like a lot of stuff would be helped if Shuya hadn’t done this all in dead silence, because now she’s convinced he’s a super killer. Anyway, then she ran away rather than die like the usual viewpoint character.
On to the nineteenth.
Chapter Twenty begins in the “Okishima Island Tourist Association” which, despite its name, we’re assured is actually a pretty ordinary looking town hall.

Back to the main characters.
Shogo has decided to take care of Noriko’s leg wound. First, he scooped some water out of the nearest filthy river, then he chewed leaves and stuffed those in.
“Listen up, everyone ” It was a girl’s voice.
Chapter 24 is just aftermath.
I was tired and busy, so reviews have been swapped for Battle Royale, since this was mostly done. Reviews tomorrow.
Anyway, Chapter 26 is more funtime with Shogo.
Well, last update we had three short chapters. Now it’s one very, very long one.
Chapter 29 is back to Yutaka and Shinji.
Chapter 30 is another long one. If only writers spent more time thinking about the needs of people making chapter-by-chapter posts on the internet.
It’s back to Shuya and friends for Chapter 31.
They’ve heard the gunshots. Shuya and Noriko are disturbed, so Shogo decides it’s time to bring up the fact that his plan probably will involve killing people!
Concurrently in Chapter 32, Yutaka and Shinji also hear the shots.
Chapter 34 brings us back to the main, more boring group.
Another new POV. Kaori. All we know about her is that she was Megumi’s friend and she was one of the students remaining when Shinji left and saw the group waiting.
Another new POV. This chapter’s an interesting one, serving as a counterpoint to the terrible bit with Yoshimi.
Takako Chigusa (Female Student No. 13) stuck her head out from under the shadow of a tree trunk. She was halfway up the eastern side of the island’s southern mountain.
That means she’s between H4 and H5. H3 will be forbidden in a couple hours, so she’s fine, but it seems like she’s in an area likely to have traffic.
Back with the main group, Noriko’s gotten even worse.
So. Halfway through this book, and half the characters are dead. Let’s take stock.
