Pokemon Omega Ruby Day 25

So, victory is mine. I decide to take Judgement out for a spin since it’s rainy.

I’m disappointed to find the person warning me off is gone, and the area beyond doesn’t look impressive at all.

Oh hey, the other trainer has a castform too! This’ll be a cool chance to oh god right castformm all have the same moveset and attack. I can’t even do stuff like time weather moves/weather ball because we both change simultaneously, so I just hammer the other one to death with weather ball while it keeps trying to change the weather pointlessly.

Geodude’s evolving!

Graveler grows by feeding on rocks. Apparently, it prefers to eat rocks that are covered in moss. This Pokémon eats its way through a ton of rocks on a daily basis.

Which would suggest that actually it grows by eating moss as well.

I promptly head to the GTS, where I find people asking for everything but another graveler, so I put it up myself and immediately someone else trades with me.

Golem live up on mountains. If there is a large earthquake, these Pokémon will come rolling down off the mountains en masse to the foothills below.

Also, I pass a lot of requests for a mew that seem wholly legitimate. Poor kids.

Anyway. I now have fly and fossils, so I head to Devon and get an anorith.

Anorith was regenerated from a prehistoric fossil. This primitive Pokémon once lived in warm seas. It grips its prey firmly between its two large claws.

Then I remember QR codes and get all the fossils so I have something to stick on my wondertrade zubat and nicknamed magikarp, then I wondertrade them.

Aerodactyl is a Pokémon from the age of dinosaurs. It was regenerated from genetic material extracted from amber. It is imagined to have been the king of the skies in ancient times.

This ancient Pokémon was restored from part of its body that had been frozen in ice for over 100 million years.

Revived from a fossil, this Pokémon is thought to be the ancestor of all bird Pokémon.

Fun fact: the Alpha Sapphire pokedex data is Said to be an ancestor of bird Pokémon, they were unable to fly and moved about by hopping from one branch to another. so the exact same thing but with extra info.

Kabuto is a Pokémon that has been regenerated from a fossil. However, in extremely rare cases, living examples have been discovered. The Pokémon has not changed at all for 300 million years.

I don’t think there’s ever been living ones in the games, though – anime reference?

Lileep became extinct approximately a hundred million years ago. This ancient Pokémon attaches itself to a rock on the seafloor and catches approaching prey using tentacles shaped like flower petals.

Omanyte is one of the ancient and long-since-extinct Pokémon that have been regenerated from fossils by people. If attacked by an enemy, it withdraws itself inside its hard shell.

A lifelong jungle dweller from 100 million years ago, it would snap obstructing trees with headbutts.

It habitually polishes its face by rubbing it against tree trunks. It is weak to attacks from behind.

About 100 million years ago, these Pokémon swam in oceans. It is thought they also went on land to attack prey.

I’m not sure if that’s seriously true because everything pokemon do is about attacking others, or if the joke is that pokemon-world scientists always have “to attack prey” as their go-to assumption the way our world scientists would say “to attract mates” and actually like regular sea turtles it was on land for egg laying purposes. (Come to think of it, since they have no clue how eggs work, it makes a lot of sense that this could be true but something no one knows.)

This Pokémon was restored from a fossil. If something happens that it doesn’t like, it throws a tantrum and runs wild.

Seviper shares a generations-long feud with Zangoose. The scars on its body are evidence of vicious battles. This Pokémon attacks using its sword-edged tail.

So yeah I then get distracted by wondertrade. On the plus side, there’s now a few dozen Silvers floating around. Some people try to trade directly with me, but it’s hampered by the fact you can’t communicate during trades so they keep trying to offer me legendaries and stuff and refusing just makes them spend more time flipping through their box for other legendaries and just take the shinies already. I ended up catching a taillow to tell people to send junk. Wondertrading is so much faster and easier.
