Pokemon Omega Ruby Day 58 Epilogue

Well. I try to walk out of my room. A cutscene seizes control of Lucki.

Mom and Lying Liar Who Lies are together downstairs.

Hm? says Lying Liar Who Lies. He comes over. Morning, Lucki.

Dammit, Lucki, did you not hear how we were going to jump out the window in the night?

You must’ve been bushed. You slept like a log. Oh, but before I forget… This came for you. It’s from someone named Briney.

I get an SS Ticket!

Hm, so it was a ferry ticket, was it? As I recall, you can catch the ferry from the ports in Slateport and Lilycove.

And it’s not blue text!

Lucki! If you have ambition as a Trainer, I want you to take that ferry to the BATTLE RESORT.

Spoke too soon, but at least it’s just the place name.

I think it will teach you that there is no end to a Trainer’s chosen path.

I think I control most of your gods.

I’d better be heading back to the Petalburg Gym, then. Thanks for looking after the house while I’m away, honey.

Like she has any choice.

He leaves, and Mom grows enough of a spine in his absence to complain.

Ohhh, that dad of yours! Can’t he ever forget about work? I wish he could just switch it off and take it easy sometimes! But I love him just the way he is…

Mom. Mom, no. You need a divorce.

Depressed, I leave, only for a spikybox to come from somewhere.

H-help me!

Again, cutscene takes over and Lucki teleports just out of town.

H-help me!

It’s Birch, being menaced by a shroomish.

Oh! Why, if it isn’t Lucki! he says, still in spikybox. H-help a professor out! I’ve got some Poke Balls in my Bag there!

Birch I literally caught God, twice, and also the devil.

Anyway, I can now pick one of the Johto starters for some reason. Chikorita, you’re just too cute not to pick, no matter how bad an idea it is.

Then…nothing happens. My, my! Good thing that Shroomish wasn’t as fierce as it seemed! I sure do appreciate your trying to help me out, though.

Yeah that was totally my motivation yes.

In fact…

I get to keep the pokemon by virtue of the noble act of taking it in the first place?

Why don’t you keep that Pokemon? Yes, that one from the Johto region! Well, I hope to see you later. I somehow get the feeling that I will, if I stick around here!

So I guess he just keeps handing those out?

I head back home and Mom gives me a Latiasite she…just happened to find?

Remember that night you went to see the star show? Well, I found this in the grass out front the next morning!

That just raises further questions.

Isn’t it pretty, the way it sparkles? It’s like a rainbow!

I head out again and find a box machoke who may or may not be that particular box machoke. I take a snivy.

My goodness, I sure misread that situation, didn’t I? I thought that Machoke from the Pokemon Postal Service was a wild Machoke!

How.

But hey, more worldbuilding! I guess I’ll take it.

In battle, Chikorita waves its leaf around to keep the foe at bay. However, a sweet fragrance also wafts from the leaf, becalming the battling Pokémon and creating a cozy, friendly atmosphere all around.

Being exposed to sunlight makes its movements swifter. It uses vines more adeptly than its hands.

That’s a cool tidbit I’ll try to remember. And makes sense given it’ll be losing those hands soon.
So yeah, we’re done for now. I still haven’t mastered contests, but I kind of like doing that so I’d like to struggle through a bit on my own, and that takes too long for daily posts.
Join me tomorrow to find out what’s next.

[old joke]Boy, this game has more fake-out endings than Peter Jackson’s “The Return of the King”, eh?[/old joke]
