Right, back to the spooky route.
Haunter!
If you get the feeling of being watched in darkness when nobody is around, Haunter is there.
That’s not the creepiest haunter entry, though.
Yellow’s By licking, it saps the victim’s life. It causes shaking that won’t stop until the victim’s demise. is pretty good, and honestly, R/B’s Because of its ability to slip through block walls, it is said to be from another dimension. is pretty good too once you start to think about it. And for a watcher in darkness, Gold’s In total darkness, where nothing is visible, Haunter lurks, silently stalking its next victim. is much more solid.
Holy shit I went down the other path and there’s gravestones.
Another goomy! This time she’s a girl. Hey, it’s a dragon!
The weakest Dragon-type Pokemon,
it lives in damp, shady places, so its
body doesn’t dry out.
I’m not sure the generation that introduced a new type just to make dragons suck needed to be the same one to introduce a deliberately weak dragon pokemon.
Oh god now the tombstones are half broken and in the water. Ew.
Pinkie pops up.
C’mon! This way! Pinkie HOW ARE YOU SO CHEERFUL
Serena follows her and now we’re at this small house. Doesn’t look too sinister.
So this is the house… muses Pinkie.
Greenbox: It IS a scary house, isn’t it? Well, I guess we should go inside.
Orange: What?! Shut up Orange. You’re going inside? Are you all serious?
Green: Calem is off spending time with his Pokemon… so, I guess we’ll just have to go in without him and see if the rumor is true by ourselves…
Pinkie: I guess so! Let’s just go inside by ourselves, then! And so we do.
And there’s some guy inside? It’s very dark but otherwise looks fine.
Let’s get started, then… he says. And the screen changes to be up high and all wobbly, then slowly moves in.
It was a dark and stormy night many years ago. Lost, I arrived at this house and went inside. The lights would not turn on, so I fearfully looked around the house. Eventually, I made my way into the kitchen. There was no sign of anyone being there… I found the fridge, and when I opened it, a faint light leaked out. I could finally make out my surroundings. And I saw the faint outline of a man huddling in the corner of the room. I tried to tell him I was lost and I was hoping he’d let me stay until morning, but when I approached him… The man suddenly screamed, “Stay back!” I apologized and continued to plead my case. “Please, can’t you help me?” “I’m not talking to you!” he shouted. I looked at the man in surprise. When I did this, the man asked me… “Can’t you see them? Behind you!”
Spikeybox: “A horde of faceless men!”
Eh. I was thinking maybe it’d turn out he was the monster.
Now then… Since I told a wonderful story that will always haunt you… Would you be so kind as to tip me? Yeah sure that was some good atmosphere you had there. If you don’t, you might see something really scary. Oh. But I do want to see something scary.
You’re charging us?! shouts Pinkie in outrage.
Even haunted houses aren’t free, you know! he says cheerfully. Pinkie, the man has a point.
I’ll tip.
Sheesh! Let’s get out of here! says Pinkie.
Orange: Huh? Is it over already? I wasn’t really listening. Just die already.
Green: Was the story you just told really true?
And we end up outside.
Sigh… I guess it really was a scary house, in a way…
Green: Well, I know you wanted to go camping, and that was kind of like camping, I guess. WTF Japan. People usually tell scary stories by the campfire, right? That’s really not the essence of camping! Your country is broken.
Orange: I’ve had enough of dark places and scary things… I’d rather rehearse my dances. I’ll see you all later!.
Pinkie says she’ll keep going to Laverre, which I don’t know why the game thinks that needed clarifying. And Green just babbles more about comparing pokedexes later.
Going back inside, the guy says, Some things are best left unknown… The truth is best carried to the grave… A+ showmanship there.
Stunfisk.
Its skin is very hard, so it is unhurt even if stepped on by sumo wrestlers. It smiles when transmitting electricity.
I just found a revive on a tombstone.
Hey, backtracking to heal finds Pinkie now in front of the gates, though she sill says the same stuff.
Weepinbell.
The leafy parts act as cutters for slashing foes. It spits a fluid that dissolves everything.
And now Braxien’s evolving! And what a perfect place for that this is. Delphox.

It gazes into the flame at the tip of
its branch to achieve a focused state,
which allows it to see into the future.
And she just learned mystic fire, so finally a decent fire move to replace ember with.
There’s areas of even deeper marshwater where I can’t walk. I guess you can surf.
Come to think of it, I haven’t been using that good rod. Let’s try that. What lurks in the murky depths of a flooded graveyard?
Barboach, apparently.
It coats its entire body with a slimy fluid so it can squirm and slip away.
Poliwhirl.
It can live out of water. When out of water, it constantly sweats to keep its body slimy.
I’ll catch two since it’s another with different evolutions. …which takes forever, I guess they’re rare.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee there’s another ghost person standing in the water staring at the deeper water.
When I look at the swamp, I can’t help but think of Poison… I’m sorry! That wasn’t a very interesting thing to say!
No, it confirms why marsh would go with Koga in the Japanese mind.
Here, take this as an apology. And now I have toxic. Thanks, possibly undead girl!
Also, I surf to an item on the far bank. They do items well too – the ones in the water are actually under the water, only the red top showing and distorted by the waves.
And now I’ve reached Laverre and there’s mushrooms and apparently I find a tiny mushroom by examining the gigantic ones.

“I’m not sure the generation that introduced a new type just to make dragons suck needed to be the same one to introduce a deliberately weak dragon pokemon.” Goomy’s final form has a pretty high special defense which can save it from fairy attacks (most fairy attacks are special). It can even take an ice beam from an ice type and hold it together. It’s kind of a pain to get it’s final form though.
Also I think the only ghost lady you should worry about is the one in the hotel in Lumiose City. She likes listening to elevators! =D
