Last time, seriously? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? (more…)
Last time, I want Tobias to die. (more…)
MY BROTHER STANDS behind the microscope, his eye pressed to the eyepiece. The light in the microscope platform casts strange shadows on his face, making him look years older.
“This is definitely it,” he says. “The attack simulation serum, I mean. No question.”
“It’s always good to have another person verify,” Matthew says.
We were introduced to it as definitely true, the plot proceeded from definitely true, then another older Erudite said it was definitely true, Tris has repeatedly said the fact it’s true justifies her killing everyone there, and now at the tail end of the book he’s saying that huh, I guess it’s true. Last time, Tobias has snapped.
Luckily, we’re back to Tris and the comparatively cheery subplot about how the weapons lab is, shockingly, guarded by a deadly weapon. Mind you, a less than brilliant one, because Tris easily identifies this as “suicide mission” rather than “actually stopping us”. (more…)
Last time on Allegiant, something happened I guess? Maybe? I can’t remember. It’s all a blur of dissatisfaction and endless exposition. (more…)
Todias is sitting around using the cameras to stalk his parents. Cara comes over to point out he’s weird. Erudite continues to be the best at emotions because the author is that bad of a writer. Tobias then lampshades this fact. (more…)
Last time, Tris is now leader of the rebellion, which is now morally right because it’s no longer about dealing with class inequity but is about returning things where she lives to how they were when she was younger. Progressive is bad, regressive is good. (more…)
Last time, why is Marcus not dead.

FUCK IT WE ARE NOW GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE KUROSHITSUJI MOVIE
Okay, so Nita is evil. Shock. (more…)
So, before we find out more about how all rebellions are wrong because fuck the oppressed, let’s pause and go over what we’ve seen so far. As is necessary, we have to discard the previous books, but just going on what we have here, are there interesting stories that could be told? (more…)
Last time, Tobias decides to have Tris come with him. Today, Tris comes with him. (more…)
Last time, the author really doesn’t know where she’s going with this, but she figures if she just keeps writing she’ll think of something.
Today, more of that! (more…)
Last time, the worldbuilding is such a disjointed mess that we get characters “repeating” information that bears no resemblance to the previous paragraph and it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to stop my white supremacist comparisons anytime soon. (more…)
Last time, so many answers, all of them terrible and most of them without questions to go with. Today, no matter how hard I bang the exposition train won’t stop or even move to a more interesting rail. (more…)
Last time, Tobias emoed he wasn’t special! Today, Tris is sad she’s not special.
The difference is, she figures it just doesn’t matter or is wrong, while Tobias is in a tailspin. (more…)
