Two and a Half Men is worse than Big Bang Theory

So in the interests of fairness(?), Two and a Half Men is also a very bad sitcom. I have only seen the end of an episode, where Longsuffering Hot Chick was planning to get breast reduction surgery because of the minor issue of being in pain and Guy I Hope She One Day Kills managed to convince her not to at the last second, to his joy. When trying to find the clip for you, I instead found something from the middle of an episode featuring the two of them.

You’ll notice it’s in a playlist that’s for the best scenes from the show. But really, even if this was universally reviled by the fans, nothing short of every other episode just being a woman reading from selected works on feminism could help. (I guess it could be, because the fact I’ve now watched four whole minutes of this show is bad enough and I’m not going to look at anything else.)

So: Two and a Half Men is worse than Big Bang Theory. This doesn’t change that Big Bang Theory is terrible. But I guess if you’re ever at someone else’s house, and they say they want to watch TV and let you pick which of the two it’ll be, and for some reason you can’t sprint through a window to escape, and you don’t hate them for some reason so punching them out isn’t an option, then you’ll know that Two and a Half Men is the worse one to pick.

Urgghhh my dad is in love with this show and I HATE IT SO MUCH. They make the women out to be raptors, and the men are aaaalways in the right, even when they’re NOT. Not to mention how far this show blows sexual expectations out of proportions. Hate hate hate hate hate.

I sometimes caught this show (I need something on while I cook and I don’t always bother changing the channel) and I just found myself terribly depressed by Melanie Lynskey’s presence. She’s such a great actress in such a terrible show. On the plus side her character got to kill Charlie Sheen’s character. Spoilers I guess but I doubt anyone cares.

I don’t know which one it is but I feel pleased by the death anyway.

Charlie Sheen is the one who is an actual abuser of women IRL and the internet thinks he’s hilarious (albeit in a laughing-at-him-not-with-him way) because WINNING.

My husband watches this sometimes when he’s in the mood for something brainless (with acknowledgement that it’s awful), so I’ve seen more than any person should out of the corner of my eye. It’s not only tiresome and sexist but also painfully unfunny; I don’t understand how it’s so popular. I was baffled when fairly recently it was unusually progressive by revealing that the woman the main character had just slept with was trans and actually having him be fine with that and treating her as a real woman and human being, but then of course it had a bunch of gags about showing she’s ~the man in the relationship~ isn’t it hilarious!!

It’s a beautiful reminder that bigotry towards one group doesn’t mean you’re bigoted to everyone! From the clip they don’t seem to have any hangups about natural/artificial breasts, so it makes sense they wouldn’t be too fussed about what the woman looked like originally, so long as she’s fuckable currently.

        This describes the show perfectly.
