As is also traditional, the authors. Some are sane. Some are not.

I’m sorry, but I’m trying to do my very best to at least be a decent writer. I
never took engilsh clubs or anything, but I just saying if you don’t have a
good comment, then next time, make a book about books about things like this.

You know, i really hate it when people like you comment on my stuff. But let
me just tell you now, some of my spellings may have been incorrect, but the
rest wasn’t, like:
If you read a Pokémon story in one of the annuals, you will see that they
write it very simple minded. No explanations, no textures, just a very simple
written story. And so, i’m following how they write it, mainly because it
gives my style some more originality. Also because this: “The pokémon trainer
looked up at the blue sky and his eyes twinkled from the sun…” SUCKS!!! I’ve
seen people write POKEMON stories like THIS!!!
If you have too much narration it get’s boring, like me, when people find a
page in a book that is full of paragraphs and narration, they skip to the next
page. And so, using speech gives more space inbetween lines. Basically, i’m
treating adults like children.
Oh and my teacher always said “Never write ‘said’ in a story, it’s just too
boring.”
I am NOT getting a beta reader because my writing style is FINE!

Wow, thanks! Your corrections were great, I think I’ll be able to apply it to
future fics. Thanks. :D Heh, you sound like a total pro, so I hope you don’t
mind me asking – but I didn’t catch the speech verb part. I’m really sorry,
but do you mind explaining that part again?
Sorry if I made Gold sound like that, I guess I didn’t manage to portray him
correctly. But as a guy, I thought I’d just play it truthful, you know? Sorry.

Oh and my teacher always said “Never write ‘said’ in a story, it’s just too
boring.”
The Stephanie Meyer Institution of Learning, I suppose?
I cringe whenever I hear of teachers spouting out nonsense like this. Said may be “boring” and sometimes repetitive, but it’s often the best speech tag to use.
Yeah, a lot of creative writing classes are really hit or miss.
I think it’s one of those things where it’s all about what extreme you’re dealing with. When you’re a teacher getting nothing but he said/he said/he said, then telling them they need to use other words makes more sense.
The problem is that kids take what should be an exercise as an ironclad rule…or teachers are indeed bad enough that they present it as one.
In my experience, it’s been the former. Kids tend to fall into a rut of using the same few words, names, sentence constructions, etc. and the teachers bend over backwards to get variation. The rule is then overgeneralized. I saw a lot of it as a kid, too, and I remember trying to explain to a peer why the sentence “They informed us they wanted to know what was going on,” didn’t work. Connotation, dammit!
But as a guy, I thought I’d just play it truthful, you know?
He sounded SO nice, and then with one simple sentence he managed to horrify me more than the big block of crazy right above him.
I know, right? If this is ‘truthful’ for him, I seriously wonder how he acts in real life.
I figure with this sort of thing truthful is at least better than the alternative. The guy going “lol it’s cute you’re mad at me” is at least giving you the information you need to never get near him again.
See, I sort of figured it was autobiographical from the start because Gold was making my skin crawl.
On the brighter side he said his sister had the same complaint, so maybe she’ll get through to him.

Yeah, I noticed that you tend not to point out things like tense changes. The fic by Animerulzs1267 was jumping all around the place, and there was also this bit where it was all “dialogue” said, “dialogue” with no one doing the saying. It was kind of freaky.
With the more disastrous, I try to just cover a couple major errors, mostly ones that are easy to pick out on a skim. Tense changes are one of the mistakes where the story has to be well enough written I’m actually reading it.
“And so, i’m following how they write it, mainly because it
gives my style some more originality. ”
I’m not sure what to say here, apart from ‘you’re doing it wrong’.
