I know all of that about grass pokemon, though he does not as what he thinks
of pokemon is highly misguided. Thus, there are some inaccuracies in what he
says. This will be shown more frequently in actually, until he gets some sort
of “friend” that will tell him “No, the bulbasaur will not strangle
you,”
And I’ll try to work on that choppy sentences thing for sure. It’s a major
issue I have that actually stems from an idiotic english teacher I had who
marked a sentence that long as run-on. Sorry. :(
I know the unwilling trainer approach has been done a few other times and that
it’s actually sort of a run-down concept. All my other pokemon OCs were the
type who ran out on their 10th birthday, so this is new territory for me.
Anyways, thank you so much for the review! I’m actually extremely appreciative
of the criticism as it will help me improve, thank you!

Blissfully ignoring that my main complaint was that treating him like his reasons for fearing pokemon were stupid made for bad writing.
And why the hell wouldn’t it strangle him? I feel this sums up my problems with a large class of fanfic.

Gah, you’re totally right. This really isn’t all that interesting, is it? I
didn’t deliver it like I imagined it at all, and I just reread it, it really
is boring. Thanks a lot for the detailed review, though! It really helped. I’m
going to try to use your advice and try again.

First of all son the first paragraph was MEANT to take up space. Straight up
duh that most people already know this but i just needed a starting point. I
have problems with that kind of thing and i can label any damn scene break
that i want to. It’s my story,so stop bugging me about it. If i read one of
you’re stories i’ll just want to see what you were able to come up with and
try to enjoy it. Next time i’ll try to do better if it will make you happy.
But next time you review at least try to tell me if i’m doing good or not on
the story. All the things that you wrote down is practically about the whole
chapter itself. Am i at least starting off with a good plot or something? I’M
just a begginer writer after all, not tryin to be mean.

“I will try to use said more,” I said. Good? :)
The reaction is actually fairly accurate for the character as I’ve written
him: A drama queen. Forrest is also not the most keen person in the morning,
as will be explored in future chapters. And as this is written from Forrest’s
perspective, if anyone had said anything he would not have heard it since he
was freaking out so much.
The staying at home for the business thing isn’t the whole truth. I don’t want
to give anything away on this, so I’ll just have to hope you take my word for
it.
And the shoebox is not special in anyway. It’s just a plain old shoe box that
he used to store this stuff in so it would not be scattered about his room and
even if he opened his closet, would not have to look directly at it. And I
take full responsibility for not mentioning the clothes. The bag full of
basics: Essentially me just being lazy and not wanting to write an ugly list
of items.
If he’s a rookie trainer, there is absolutely no way any of their pokemon
would obey him. Plain and simple.
And as to the whole excitement thing. Being excited doesnt necessarily have to
be a good thing, as many terrifying things can be exciting. Ever walked
through a haunted house around halloween? Thrilling and exciting, but not
necessarily in a good way.
But, yet again: Thank you! I really appreciate this. I noticed one of my
problems from trying to “explain” myself to you is that I don’t note the
reasons for a lot of things. I will definitely try to remedy my mistakes in
the future. And I’ll try finding a better spellcheck website, since all I have
to write with is wordpad.
Once again, thank you very much. :D

DAMMIT.
I can’t understand most of this conversation.
Also, I was traumatized by the review that you posted on my Pokemon fanfic
“Problem”. Look, I know that it doesn’t actually feel like fanfiction and that
you’re trying to help me, but apparently it’s not working. I’ve had that story
on Word on my computer for more than six months and been reading fanfiction
for three years, and, comparing that with the other stories I’ve read about
Tracey SketchitXOCs (not that there are many, I think that’s why I’m so
inexperienced), I saw nothing wrong with it, so I decided to post it there.
There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
Now, about those other authors on this topic that seriously hate you now,
Farla. I don’t think they suck, I’m just frustrated at how you can be a bit –
I don’t know, Simon Cowell-ish, as I’ve heard from one of those authors here –
and I’m also frustrated at how people can be so traumatized that they begin to
hate you forever.
Back off for a bit. I’m not trying to block you, I’m not trying to say that
you’re cruel, I’m just stating a point that many authors in this forum are
trying to say but are too mad to give what they’re really talking about. You
should probably stay away from my Pokemon fanfiction for a bit (I won’t block
you, but if I see you there again, you’re seriously in some hot water) until
I’m ready to see you again.
And for the record, I’ll see if your stories suck as much as uncontrollabe
anger does.
~Carol M.
P.S. I can’t possibly hate you. Look, how many fans does Simon Cowell have
when he can be so mean. Probably a lot. (I don’t actually know; my brain is a
very unreliable source.)
P.P.S. All of my OCs (yes, that means Hannah too, Farla) from my soon to come
stories wave goodbye at you. You. Better. Wave. Back.

This is a particular flavor of bullshit that actually pisses me off.
See, AOOO has no way to block people. If you say not to review, I will honor that. FFN does have a way of blocking people. I will not honor any “I’m not going to block you but you’re not allowed to review” fuckery.

My friend, you are what I call an uninformed pessimist, you only see what
could go wrong without getting all the facts. First, it is known that with
Microsoft Word that Pokemon is an actual word, but must be capitalized as
being the name of a franchise. Word doesn’t know the difference should we be
talking about the franchise or the species. Second, for some people it’s a
personal preference, and these stories aren’t supposed to be best sellers, so
i say lay off unless the “errors” are so distracting that you can’t read it
and just have a good time. Finally, about your OC submission problem, if you
haven’t noticed, it’s what I do. Take a look at any of my stories except for
“Pokemon Black and White: New Life” and you’ll find each is an OC submission
story that has worked very well for me. And what you say about puzzles is
sometimes true, note the sometimes. And sometimes it is the author’s
responsibility, as in NOT yours, to make necessary changes to make those
pieces fit. Anyone of my other readers can tell you that besides a few grammar
ans spelling errors I am a very good writer. I appreciate your comments, but
as far as I can see, given my track record, they don’t apply to me. Maybe if
you read my stories not as though you were an english teacher and as a fan
maybe you’d appreciate them a bit more, and just learn to skip over those
things.

So, what do I think of this story?
THIS FIC SUCKS!
WHAT THE HELL? WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS PIECE OF CRAP?
Your writing sucks, it’s too straight forward, there’s so many mistakes, and
this story just blows overall!
READERS: Don’t read this story, read a better story! There are better stories
out there than You
——————-
They also popped in to insult me for having my stories listed under So Bad It’s Horrible, so I’m hoping that since I explained they’ve been removed he’ll take up my banner and start putting them back in.
“first paragraph was MEANT to take up space”
That line was almost painful to read.
Yeah, stuff like this is a large part why I say I’m not responding to PMs upfront. If you don’t reply, people will take it as proof their brilliant argument stumped you, but what the hell can you say?
