I am deeply sorry, but I have to ask why you would spam my stories with the
same speech on hello. Also, I kindly addressed the situation with Pokemon
names and since the Expansion series is based off of the video games and the
video games also capatalize the name of Pokemon species, I am doing so as
well. I appreciate that you are trying to help, but I ask that you please
refrain from spamming my stories. Thank you and have a great day.

Subject: Your Review of Pokemon :Kyanite Version

This is only written is response to your review because in my opinion it was
somewhat harsh for constructive critisim so i had a few things to say. I will
also say now that I am not very good grammaticaly so if I screw up somewhere I
apologize. […What’s that? You don’t know what a Pokémon is?] (Yes, we do.
All of us. You don’t need the filler paragraph on what pokemon are for anyone
reading pokemon fanfic, and even if it was ever necessary, hundreds of other
people have already wasted their readers’ time on it.) What is your point with
this statement? To me it seems redundant and flat out rude. Of course anyone
who is reading this knows what a pokemon is, as does almost every person who
goes to play one of the games. Its PART of the story. It always has been and
always will be. What is wrong with sticking with the original concept? Second.
I’m the Pokémon Professor ] (You wouldn’t capitalize animal or mouse or
dragon, so you shouldn’t capitalize words like pokemon or pikachu or
charizard. The only time you should capitalize it is if you’re using it as the
pokemon’s name, ie, Ash’s pikachu is called Pikachu. This is because you only
capitalize when it’s a proper noun, which are the names of places or things.
Similar reasoning should be applied to any other words you’re thinking of
capitalizing, like telephone or trainer. Or professor.) Again I must say I am
in disagreement with you. There’s a decades-old debate about whether species
names should be capitalized in formal writing – some people will say they
count as proper nouns, others say they don’t, still others say it doesn’t
matter at all and we should make a special case for them. In one scholarly
journal you’ll see things like rabbit species capitalized, while in another
you won’t. In general, when you’re dealing with scientific names you’re only
supposed to capitalize the genus, phylum, family, order, or class of an
animal, but not the species (“Homo sapiens”, not “Homo Sapiens”), but
when
dealing with vernacular names like “elephant” or “moose”, they are
uncapitalized. HOWEVER, it is not necessarily wrong to capitalize them even in
formal writing. Many magazine capitalize things like dog species, for example,
just because there’s no clear standard on how it’s supposed to be done. The
key is to be consistent – if you capitalize one, capitalize them all. The only
rule about animal capitalization is all Aves species (birds) MUST be
capitalized in scientific writing because that’s just the way it’s always been
done, even in ornithological writing as far back as the 1700s (also, because
that’s how Darwin chose to write them, and his word, at least in the
scientific community, is law). Technically, things like Pidgeot and Fearow
should always be capitalized because of this. So Really it is up to the
author/writer if they capitalize it or not. [the raven haired Senior ] (Again.
If it’s not a proper noun, you don’t capitalize it. Also, don’t abuse
epithets. The fact he’s raven haired is completely irrelevant here.) Again im
sorry for seeming to be just harrassing and being critical of your
constructive critisism, but it seems to me based on how the sentence is
written it is being used as a proper noun meaning the capitalization is
correct, but that just may be my interpretaion of it. Sadly i have no more
time right now to write more.

Subject: re: Your review to A Boy And His Houndoom

A response to your review at http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7750076/

First of all, THANK YOU. If you want an honest answer, I KNOW my paragraphing
sucks. But now I can finally work on that. I also am appreciative for the info
about the capitalization, I was under a misunderstanding that the rules
changed for Pokemon.

NOW, to the things you said that annoyed me. Just because TWO PEOPLE don’t
know about Singed doesn’t automatically mean that others in Unova don’t know
about him. Although, I’ll be honest with you. What I wanted was for this to be
the reader’s introduction to Singed, it just felt right to have a group
explaining about him to someone who didn’t know about him.

The NOT KILLING ANYONE is actually caused because all of those assaults were
instigated by either an insult or an ‘unprovoked’ attack. While YES there is
always a chance of an accidental death, what I MEAN TO SHOW is that the
populace believes each assault was an attempt at murder, but even though
Singed is CLEARLY capable of carrying through with murder, he never does. As
for the fires, this plays more off of those times in the anime where a pokemon
attacks a trainer with what SHOULD be a crippling attack (charmander burning
people’s faces, stuff like that) and the trainer brushes it off. This is
following a mix of pokemon physics and real-life physics.

As for the clothing, Cory is hearing this from people that don’t personally
know Singed. My idea is that he certainly carries around a few pairs of
clothes, the reason people THINK it’s all the same is that it mainly LOOKS the
same. You see, the clothing is SYMBOLIC to a part later in the plot. As
Singed’s personality begins to change, so will what he wears. What I want for
now is for Singed to be mysterious, where not everything people know about him
makes sense.

Now, about the capsule. I’ll be honest, I laughed at the crazy hobo idea. In a
way, that really IS what his personality consists of. The REASON he’s carrying
it around ALL THE TIME is showing just how precious this capsule is to him,
and is SUPPOSED to make a person question what could be inside of it. As for
his badassness, well . . . this is showing TWO things. One, he’s been holding
onto that capsule for a LONG time. I believe he would adapt, and would learn
to use his legs in a fight.

As for the description of Singed, I wanted the reader to be able to picture
him. However, I’ll acknowledge that I may have went too far. As for the police
officers walking up to him, YES it was a stupid idea. But when you get
INTENTIONALLY launched into the ocean, not everyone keeps their cool so well.
That’s why it’s only one officer that runs up to Singed instead of all ten of
them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very appreciative of the criticism. I won’t be able to
become a better writer if I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, and I’m quite
pleased to see at least ONE person is pointing out my flaws. The [Ok] part is
difficult for me, because that’s how I always write it out. On one hand, I
must admit that I’m annoyed that you are so picky. On the other hand . . .
well, this is the stuff I NEED to know and adjust to. As with the writing out
numbers with letters, that’s a bad habit of mine. Thanks for pointing it out.

So, just to recap: Thank you for your time and thank you for EXPLAINING what
I’m doing wrong. Oh, and one more thing

[[He had a Houndoom that was as cruel as Singed was. Because of Houndoom,
Singed had been the instigator for many fires. ]

Fires are a similar issue. They may not always be fatal, but every time
there’s a fire, there’s a chance it’ll kill someone.]

Singed knows this. Houndoom knows this. The fires were deliberately done in
locations that weren’t filled to the brim with people, because Singed doesn’t
want the past to repeat itself.

I suck at intros, I just can’t make myself balance the time and effort into it
with each attempt. I apologize that I wasn’t able to live up to your
expectations, but I’ll work on my skills until I can.

A response to your review at http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7750166/

1. Thanks for your help with my grammar. I’m not exactly an expert at this
kind of thing so constructive criticism is welcome.

2. I’m not exactly sure if you read the “it’s a joke” part… The I said there
would have to have been more than one or it would have to had to die is
because in the movie they found ancient DNA. And as far as I know (which isn’t
that much by the way) it would be pretty hard to find any DNA if there wasn’t
a body to take the DNA from… Or else how would they have found it? (And
again… I’m no expert so that can be taken as a serious question if you felt
like it.) This wasn’t meant to be serious in anyway… I was just making fun
of the whole situation and was not trying to say anything about the actual
argument of religion and evolution… To actually compare it to god vs.
evolution is kind of ridiculous…

3. Thanks for commenting on my work. I’m a fan of a few of your stories so
acknowledgement is quite an honor.

A response to your review at http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7750292/

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. If you don’t mind, I have a few
follow up questions.

First of all (and I know you’re going to laugh at my lack of knowledge when
you read this) how would I capitalize my title properly?

Second of all (even though this isn’t a question) thank you so much for the
dialog tips. I will try to apply these the next time I write a chapter and in
the future. Thank you for helping me improve.

Third of all, why shouldn’t plot rely on a moron, or a character’s lack of
knowledge? I mean this is the nicest way possible, but it doesn’t make any
sense to me.

Thank you so much for reviewing, it means a lot to me that you took the time
to help me become a better writer.
