“Don’t judge a story by the first chapter.”

The chapters are short because there are over thirty chapters total. Trust me, it’ll pick up later |
This month is an ongoing demonstration of the limits of communication.

First, thank you for pointing out my capitalization errors. I’ll do my best to remember your tips in the future. As for the five students, I imagine that they begin in a small town just like every other pokemon game, so a)there aren’t many potential students to begin with, and b) they might have been advanced students. And regarding the “established trainers” part as you called it, I had figured that maybe they had trained with a sort of “rental game” like the kind you see in the Battle Factory. All in all, I appreciate the help in pointing out flaws, and I hope that you will be more pleased with my writing in the future. |

Oh…and about them looking half human, it just seemed like something fun to do. I always kinda imagined them the pokemon like that, so I wanted to pass that on to other people. Sorry if it sounds kinda stupid. |

Number 2) This is my fanfic, not yours. As we all know, anything can happen. Just because my brain sees it one way and yours sees it another. Number 3) Again, this is MY fanfic. I’m also interested in challenging you to re-write this chapter and then seeing just how much sense it would make otherwise. (Plus I put in the authors note straight after that part saying I would explain it all, and I did. Think of this chapter as a prologue, most of my up coming stories have them and I don’t care about your opinion so get used to it!) Number 4) First off, thank you for copying out the entire paragraph and not just mentioning which paragraph it was. You say it doesn’t seem to fit in with the pokemon universe in the slightest, it won’t as it is now. Did it ever occur to you that the water goddess might not even be a human. (Bitch I’m gonna spoil it for you, she’s a pokemon) Also, since when did many of these stories EVER fit in to the pokemon universe on the first chapter! I don’t care what you think about the moon thing but the story isn’t 100% focused on pokemon. Many pokemon fanfics that I’ve read aren’t. As always, this is just another story that’s starting out and then I get someone like you come and barter me down on the first frickin’ chapter. This happened with one of my other ones and then look, the barter left! Because more chapters were added and it made more sense. I don’t like giving away things until they are revealed, I give hints and such but you idiots should be able to work it out. On chapter 1 nothing will make sense and things will seem slightly out of place, it happens. Now, I suggest if you’re going to correct me like mad on how much you don’t like this story in the next chapter, I’m prepared to argue against you fully no matter what to defend this story. And if you don’t like it, don’t review and say what’s wrong with it because I’m still challenging you to re-write it and then see if it makes any sense, because I can guarantee you that without seeing what the further ahead chapters are like in my brain, you’ll fail! Now, the Celestial Water Moon is about the only thing currently that doesn’t fit in to the pokemon universe. For the rest of the chapter though, I was true to the story and to the best wishes anime if you’ve ever watched it. Look forward to seeing how you argue back at me, the not very phased but just disappointed there are still people like you out there, Nexus. |

^_^ Sorry for any harshness earlier, when you finish a shift and such you tend to be slightly irritable and cranky. |

I get the feeling we have met before. ^^ I really appreciate the genuine feedback and review. There are still many rules I have to learn about proper punctuation and grammar, and I am not ashamed to admit that I have no clue what those may be. Since posting the first chapter, I have had several people come forth with the offer to beta read chapter 2, so hopefully most of those kinks will have been resolved by then. As for the plot holes and observations that you have made about the actions (or lack thereof) in the first chapter, I have to agree with you on all of them. Its fun to look back and laugh about what could have been done. Sabrina typically wears boots so dress shoes are out of place for her, and pokemon have become MUCH more autonomous than when I had first started writing this monstrosity. Perhaps if I gave a little history on the fic itself, it might help explain some of the plot holes. I started writing Damaged in 1999, when the first pokemon movie came out. Red, Blue, and Yellow were the only games. So most of the characters and places come from the anime of that era. At the time I had my own geocities page that I had turned into a mewtwo shrine and archive of fanfics. I’m really sad to see that so many of those have vanished from the net entirely. Damaged eventually comes to nearly 45 chapters, and well over 150k words. And even though I had moved on, fans still kept this monstrosity going. I don’t know why, but after 10+ years it was still scaring up new readers. So, I decided to crack open the files again, screamed at all the horrible errors, promptly shut the lid, and tucked the whole mess away for two years while I hoped it would go away. It never did. So now I’m attempting to take responsibility for this baby again, by cleaning it up, fixing the formatting, most of the glaring grammar and spelling errors, and attempting to release a version that would be more readable than the previous one. One of the biggest problems I have encountered are some plot inconsistencies, and other such minor details like “should Sabrina be wearing better shoes?” And after much internal debate, most of them I have decided to keep. Who I am now, is not who I was thirteen years ago. People change. Which is one of the biggest reasons tackling this mess was so difficult. I was seventeen years old when I started writing this, twenty one when it came to a close, and trying to correct all of those little mistakes would take away from the point I had been trying to make a decade ago. That pokemon, and people, learn and grow and evolve in ways they really can’t predict. So, if I can’t delete, ignore and bury the result of a few summers of random pounding on various keyboards, I might as well give it a bath, put some better clothes on it, and accept that even though its not perfect, it will do, and the readers seem to like it all the same. Once again, thank you! |

Also, when the story was on the battle between Gengar and Nidorino, you told me that colour was too much description. How? One is purple, the other is pink. That’s a basic way to visialise them in your head, surely. What if I described an flamingo to someone who didn’t know what one was? Surely one of the key things to know about a flamingo, other than the fact that it is a bird and has wings, is the fact that it is pink. |
So maybe that’s where it’s coming from.

Yeah, Leaf choose the weaker pokemon, but that’s because she, along with Bulbasaur, felt a BOND. That was the whole damn point. And, yes I know that trainers start at ten. But it’s a romance story. Have you ever heard of ten year olds in a romance? Nope. And finally, your comment at the end. Don’t judge a story by the first chapter. And if you really don’t like all these mistakes, or the other points, then maybe you shouldn’t read the saga. |

See? See how easy that was? Why can’t people just do that.
*cringes at the reappearance of Damaged* Oh God. That fic. On the one hand, I’m curious to know what kinks are being worked out there. On the other, fucking hell, the way the characters were written the first time around…
But it was quality ohgodthatfic. Compare it to that Mewtwo/Misty fic from last month or so that was just formulaic OOC romance. Stuff happens! People talk! Mewtwo emos!
Ah, the glorious days when people wrote Mewtwo-is-forced-to-interact-with-humans fic. I really liked those.
Somehow, I think I missed this one. What makes it ohgodthatfic?

Forced relationships and emoangst for everyone!
Haha, I’m so special that my comment gets eaten and then regurgitated by the system.
Commenting system decided you were spam because only spambots would ever link in comments.
It’s a disappointing MST, though. Speeds over the crazy and seems like a lot of hating for the sake of it instead.
That reminds me. Farla, how interested are you in Cialis?
Also! To be fair, a lot of MSTs are, but yeah, this one seemed a lot funnier when I was younger. Now I’m a little saddened that they didn’t bother going in-depth with each chapter, if only because you really can’t do a proper MST with just one-liners and huge text.
