“appreciate the criticism i promise to try harder in the next paragraph” seems like a good ending note.

Communicating with Pokemon: It is generally accepted that real communication with most pokemon (especially pokemon that can’t speak actual words besides their names) is rare, which is what I was trying to have Takamore be able to do, as in He is able to understand them. He can talk with them as opposed to play a game of charades and “What is it Lassie” with the characters, like what the characters of the manga have been known to do. Feel free to criticize, it’s your right, but there’s the reasoning for it. Tak: That’s his nickname, and last I checked names aren’t always spelled how they sound. I just wanted to make sure readers knew how to pronounce it properly, its a personal thing. Tak and Pokemon: Look at the first few episodes of Pokemon, Ash never put Pikachu in a pokeball as he rushed to a pokemon center. It’s a mentality thing, and I sign of attachment, caring. As for the whole ownership thing, Lucario and Mewtwo are two of many pokemon capable of speech, and they can be captured. That argument really doesn’t hold up very well anymore. As for why he’s an Umbreon, that is a part of the story. I also never said specifically that Mew turned him into an Umbreon, which she didn’t. She just saved him. He could very well have changed into a pokemon before Mew even arrived. Please, don’t take this as me being angry. I really do appreciate the review, and this is my response to said review. I will try and address these points in the next few chapters, so don’t rule them out :) -FightorFlyT |

I do have one question, could you please give me some examples of when I’m missing punctuation in the dialogue. It’d help a lot. |

I just write the way I prefer to, like just using flat un-assuming words like ‘said’ while okay for the most part, overuse of the word grates on my nerves. I apologize if you don’t like my style of writing, I’ll clean it up as best I can but at the end of the day It can’t really be helped considering I was never even taught what a semi-colon was in school. I use capital letters for the Pokemon, because ‘Pokemon’ describes an entire species and capital letters for the start of their names because that is their actual names unless a trainer gives them a nickname. To Ash, his Pikachu is an individual and his closest companion, so his name is treated differently, just like lots of Pokemon because unlike what you said, they’re not just animals from this world with lower intelligence than we humans, Pokemon are complex and powerful beings. Granted that new chapter wasn’t anywhere near my best work, I hadn’t written anything in a while because my muse was dead and just got back into writing after a few months of barely anything. |
Pointing out that companionship has nothing to do with capitalization and the name isn’t treated differently because it’s capitalized like any name results in:

Right, I was trying to be nice and I explained why his Pokemon’s names are
capitilized, because that is their NAMES.
If you don’t like the way I write, fuck off and stop reading it, I don’t have
the time to deal with a snooty little bitch who jumps on every tiny grammar
mistake he can find and tries to force his retarded opinions on others.

All of these are species are consistently capitalized in their articles because specific species are considered proper nouns. That’s why you capitalize Pikachu or Flareon or whatever, they’re not general categories of Pokemon but very specific species in the category. |

As for the definition of drabble, I just can’t win. I wrote stories fitting your definition, and promptly got angry PMs from people claiming that a drabble was a fic with no clear point in mind. I’ve even seen fics like this described as drabbles. Now, I’m not saying you’re wrong, because that’s what I thought drabbles were initially. So…not sure what to think. Anyway, I think I’m going to take it down. It’s a piece of crap anyway, even with the missing parts added in. Thanks for the review; hope you don’t get too much trouble for your constructive reviews from the receivers. By the way: from sister Merspirit is actually fine the way it is (grammatically correct), that’s one thing I’m positive of. “From his sister Merspirit” is the more common way to say it. |

But again, thanks so much for the constructive criticism. Much better than the usual “you suck, but I’m not gonna say why” or the butt-kissing. |

Sorry about all that. I just figured that if you ever came across my story, I’d better beat you to the punch XD. Why is your profile picture a baby… seal? I think it’s a seal. Why is it a seal? |

And in conclusion:
| Envy Her | I don’t care if you repost this |
|
The only exception to this is if the next sentence doesn’t contain a speech verb, in which case it’s written as “Hello.” She grinned, never “Hello,” she grinned or “Hello,” She grinned or “Hello.” she grinned. Note that something isn’t a speech verb just because it’s a sound you make with your mouth, so generally stuff like laughed or giggled is in the second category. Furthermore, if you’re breaking up two complete sentences it’s “Hi,” she said. “This is it.” not “Hi,” she said, “this is it.” or “Hi,” she said “this is it.” And if you’re breaking up a sentence in the middle, it’s “Hi. This,” she said, “is it.” And the same punctuation and capitalization applies to thoughts. What part is lacking specificity? |
What did you tell them about the seal?
“It’s a seal because I was doing something that required a seal picture shortly before FFN introduced avatars. I thought it was stupid so I picked a random image. I never changed my opinion so I never changed it.”
Something about kids and lawns probably goes here.
I like the seal. I always imagine it sitting on a field of carnage, looking adorable, with “violence solves all problems” emblazoned on its back. Or something.
