PMD Free Rescue is a grimdark dystopia rescue team fic (“Team Pay-Up had a stellar reputation throughout the “civilized” lands. Too bad not many knew that the there was only way one could get the team to answer their desperate pleas for help. That way was through a payment of cold hard cash.”) It lacks an OC form.

Name: Maka
Species: Krokorok
Background: From an isolated desert community of sandile and their evolutions. They’re tribal and have largely avoided the recent strife by living somewhere few other pokemon do and having no ties to the crumbling cities. They have a tight-knit community that stresses honesty, working together, equal division of resources, and nonviolence. Maka was curious how other pokemon lived and so left her home to see the world.
Personality: Friendly and helpful. In some ways Maka is easily pushed around, as she’ll go along with any reasonable request and generally tolerate rudeness or threats without complaint. She is, however, extremely hard to actually convince of something, be it “so actually, God is…” or “those people over there are evil and need killing”. If people become violent toward her as a result, her usual response will be to retreat and simply avoid further contact with them.

The next one, in sharp contrast, has a ridiculously long form. Glade Academy: Shattering the Dream, another academy one this time with the ominous note it’s a reboot of a fic they’ve just abandoned.

Anything else you would like to include?: All of her pokemon are flawlessly obedient and execute moves as fast as she orders them, even complex ones. They rarely flinch and keep moving even when suffering status effects like paralyzation. They’re particularly strong physically – they can smash into an opposing pokemon far harder than would be expected, and are also better at dodging than average. They’re also often able to hitting targets even with accuracy-lowering moves at play thanks to her orders.
She is wholly willing to trade any of them if she thinks the other pokemon would be stronger – and as a lot of her pokemon’s visible strength is her own talent, an apparently equal trade will often be favorable to her. She won’t trade for dark types, though, and prefers not to have steel or psychic.

Once I finish the mammoth character, I also find out I was banned at some point and can’t submit, so I make someone else submit it, because look at how long this is! Four hours after I do so, or almost immediately after my proxy submits, the character sheets for both SYOC stories they have disappear from their profile and the SYOC note disappears from the story summaries. Inside the story it still says it’s SYOC, but I’m not sure if that’s just because they’re yet another person who doesn’t know how to edit something after it’s uploaded.

XD002 No OC sheet, not sure if it wants human or pokemon characters. Decided to go with a human who has reason to interact with a probably pokemon cast by saying he works for the villain in the summary.

Name: Tad

Pokemon: Froakie.

Appearance: Tad wears decent clothes, has a nice haircut, and is generally just a bit better put together than the average trainer.

Background: Tad is from Kalos, where everyone hates Team Flare. He does not, however, have any bad opinion of Team Pandora, as Pandora is a completely different word than Flare, and he’s always willing to do minor work for reasonable pay. So “shadow” pokemon are kind of unruly, no big deal. His pokemon is kind of unruly sometimes, like when he’s ordering it to help him do one of his odd jobs for Team Pandora! Isn’t it hilarious how sometimes pokemon act like they have “thoughts” and “feelings” like actual people do?

Finally! Stoneside Academy is yet another academy fic and this one involves the highest dose of boring school without straight up saying to submit your characters to a pokemonless high school AU, complete with picking which block the classes you pick take place in.

I look over my characters. Yuki’s made it in to another fic and also would be going stir-crazy in a setting that’s a minimum of 6/7ths not battling. Just about everyone else either isn’t interesting in a school setting where they can’t run into problems or isn’t a serious enough trainer for a school where you have to have a minimum of four pokemon and people are piling on mega evolutions – the combination of demanding a strong trainer character while offering nothing to that character and closing off any pokemon-related hooks they might have is really difficult!

So I go with Lucki again.

Appearance(be detailed)- Lucki has slightly curly and voluminous chest length aquamarine hair. Her eyes are a greenish-gold hazel and she has light skin. She’s of average height, a bit on the taller side.

She wears a a necklace with a brilliant green stone encased in thin gold wire that hangs from a fine gold chain, a gift from her parents several years back.

She doesn’t wear much in the way of makeup but does like nailpolish, with her nails usually a bright emerald green. She currently has no scars or tattoos.

Clothing:

In school?: When it comes to clothes, she prefers bright, cheery colors. Her clothes are generally on the newer side and she throws out anything worn or damaged, but nothing is extremely fancy. She wears skirts, pants, and dresses about equally often.

Out of school?: She wouldn’t dress differently.

Winter: A heavy fur coat and sticking to pants over skirts.

Swimming: Green bikini embroidered with gold thread in an abstract design.

Sleepwear: Warm red pajamas.

Personality(also be detailed with this)- Lucki is friendly and personable so long as things are going her way. When things start going wrong, she’ll blame others for the failure, first phrased as a friendly chide and then with increasing frustration. She tends to view problems as things to smash her way through, although she does change her approach quickly when she realizes it isn’t working. She absolutely hates failing and would rather move pretty far out of her comfort zone than admit defeat. She feels similarly about being tricked and will hold extreme grudges over it. She also takes criticism poorly and will assume the other person is saying it just to be a jerk.

She’s a brave person and, without her pokemon, will throw herself into the thick of things instead. She is not in the least a considerate person and has no problem throwing other people into the thick of things if that seems like a solution. She won’t even understand why people might be upset afterward. She’s also in favor of ditching anything not useful, though she won’t simply release a pokemon. For this reason, she’s looking to trade off Flare, as he failed to impress her in battle early on and nothing he’s done can overcome that first impression. She favors Raiden, who in contrast did quite well in his initial battles.

History at StoneSide(if you are a sophomore, junior or senior)- She’s a freshman.

History in general(give me at least a paragraph)- Lucki comes from Hoenn, with a father who works at Devon. Nothing particularly interesting has happened to Lucki prior. She went to a trainer school before getting her first pokemon upon graduation. She had some friends there, but didn’t bother keeping in contact with them when she left. Her starter was Silver and all the rest she picked up afterward.

She has wealthy parents who provide her whatever she needs. She generally gets whatever she wants as well. She’s pretty independent, however, and isn’t the sort to go running to them with requests. She’s an only child.

Likes(minimum is 4)- Ice cream, looking cool, pretty things (be they sparkling necklaces or shiny pokemon), cute boys, absol.

Dislikes(minimum is 4)- Losing something that’s hers, her pokemon inconveniencing or embarrassing her (such as by ignoring an order, or by collapsing right after their opponent and making it clear she only just barely won), people criticizing her, being tricked.

What type of people are your friends?

Lucki is willing to try being friends with anyone but generally gets along best with people similar to herself as Lucki doesn’t like arguments and disagreement. Once that happens she’ll try to avoid the person in the future.

What type of people are your enemies?

Lucki hates people thinking they’re better than she is or saying she’s doing things wrong. She hates people who trick or deceive her even more.

Lucki holds a grudge against Team Magma after running into them several times, including one time they stole her pokemon.

Romance?- Sure.

If so, who would be your type?- Boys her age who are helpful without being overbearing, smart, and generally chill.

How would you act around…

Friends?- Idle chatter and gossip.

Enemies?- For minor things, like jerks saying her starter, Silver, just won’t ever be a good battler, Lucki will grumble and seethe quietly and never talk to the person again. For major things, like deceiving her or working for the bad guys, she’ll do everything in her power to get back at them.

Strangers?- Lucki generally greets people with a friendly attitude, expecting the best.

Crush?- Lucki can play her cards pretty close to the vest at times. She wouldn’t act differently around a crush, at least as long as they were on good terms.

Goal in life- Lucki isn’t sure yet. She likes battling but isn’t convinced that’s her real calling. She figures it’s something in the general ballpark, though, so for now, she wants to be a great pokemon trainer.

Pokémon Species- Wartortle

Nickname- Silver

Gender- F

Personality- Timid. Silver dislikes battling but is too much of a doormat to disobey Lucki or complain. She knows what’s expected of a pokemon and so tried to be enthusiastic and pretend she’s okay with it all, hoping that she’d get over her fears. Instead, she’s grown more neurotic as the battles get harsher. Once in a blue moon she’ll panic during a fight and freezes up/uses withdraw. She particularly struggles to use the move mirror coat.

Mega-evolve?- Nope.

Moves- Ice beam, mirror coat, withdraw, dig, bite, bubblebeam.

Other about your Pokémon?- Silver is a shiny pokemon likely intended for contests by the breeders, or possibly a request that didn’t pan out. She was raised entirely by the humans there. As her species aren’t common to Hoenn, she hasn’t encountered any other members of her evolutionary line before. She’s got a more delicate body than average and can’t take a hit as easily, although she’s otherwise got good stats.

Pokémon Species- Flareon

Nickname- Flare

Gender- M

Personality- Flare is friendly and obedient. He works hard and is quite determined in battle, often remaining upright even after taking heavy blows. In the event of a near draw, he’d be the one to remain on his feet long enough to squeak out a victory…in the event it isn’t, though, he’ll still go down to the next hit. He has terrible self-esteem.

Mega-evolve?- Nope.

Moves- Flamethrower, charm, flare blitz, overheat, shadow ball, swagger.

Other about your Pokémon?- Flare was a sort of sample model at a breeding facility, so he was older than the cute baby pokemon but didn’t have the fighting experience people would expect of a mature pokemon. When they closed and sold off their pokemon, those they couldn’t were sent to the local pokecenter to be given to interested trainers. Of those, Flare was picked last. Lucki is generally unimpressed by Flare. If someone wants her to loan them a pokemon, she’ll pick him, and he’s also the first one she’ll trade.

Pokémon Species- Manectric

Nickname- Raiden

Gender- M

Personality- Raiden is still a kid. He originally viewed battles as fun games and a way to indulge a mild rebellious streak, but finds the higher powered fights he’s in now to be stressful at best and terrifying at worst. Unlike Silver, though, he never freezes up and his fearful desperation just make him fight harder as he gives it his all. He misses his parents.

Mega-evolve?- Yes.

Moves- Discharge, quick attack, bite, wild charge, double team, flamethrower.

Other about your Pokémon?- Raiden was always told to stay away from trainers, but he was sure he could handle it. Then he was caught, but Lucki said it’d be fun and he’d be able to battle people all over and become super strong and to just try it out for a bit, okay? And he did that. And he’s gotten very strong. And there’s no sign he’s ever going to get to go home again. He doesn’t even know where home is now.

Pokémon Species- Tauros

Nickname- Charger

Gender- M

Personality- Disgruntled. Charger is sick of being a trainer’s pokemon but is aggressive enough he won’t refuse to fight when he’s sent out and there’s another pokemon attacking him. He’ll obey orders because he knows it makes it more likely he ends the fight with fewer injuries, and he’s not yet good enough at tactics himself to tell when he’s getting orders that will sacrifice him to set up for another pokemon. He doesn’t yet know the other pokemon well and is currently anxious and high-strung toward them.

Mega-evolve?- No.

Moves- Rage, zen headbutt, giga impact, earthquake, frustration, outrage.

Other about your Pokémon?- Charger belonged to another trainer. He was a bit of a discipline problem. Lucki had a tropius that had stopped listening to her in favor of trying to fly away. The two traded. Lucki probably got the better deal.

All in all, only using her three times isn’t that bad – I managed 22 different characters out of 38 over the month in full. Plus, how fitting to end with her!
