I really appreciate you helping me with my grammer. Although I wanted to cry
when I read this, it was very helpful and I waas able to use it to fix all my
mistakes. I will update this weekend to the improved version. There was quite
a bit of trouble trying to publish the chapter, seeing as I didn’t have word
on my laptop. I had to try to email it to myself and then get on a different
computer to transfer it, point is I was getting annoyed and just wanted to
publish it at that point. As I was spell/grammer checking my sister started to
get impatient and wanted on, so I rushed the process and didn’t do it
properly. I realize my mistake, and I should only publish work that I have
fully gone over.

I was looking directly at the dialogue from the game and it clearly stated
“ok”, not the four letter work okay. I’m sorry, I find this to be one of those
situations where it doesn’t matter too much. Sorry if it’s a pet peeve of
yours. And as for your statement to [the Zubat], I had fully intended for it
to be a name. But, to follow your excellent advise, I changed all pokemon
names that had “the” before it to lowercase and kept it uppercase when used as
a name.

I’m sorry you don’t find my story interesting. I am going to have new plot
twist in the future, but I wanted to keep the first couple of chapters
relatively the same. I really do appreciate this review, I just wish you
weren’t so brutal about it :) Maybe it was because it was my first review and
I was really excited, but I felt so disappointed when I read it. But I guess I
need to be criticized if I deserve it (And I really do! Gosh, I’m embarrassed
by my grammer.) Most people would just say ‘Good job! Keep it up!’ but you
were nice enough to point out how to improve myself, so thanks again.

I hope one day you might have something good to say about me, but until then
I’ll keep trying my best! Thank you so much for your help, I will forever keep
your review to reference.

Thank you for your review. I have looked into the mistakes you have pointed
out and corrected those that I felt were incorrect. I will work on my grammar
and add in more descriptions in the future.

I thought you might like to know, I pulled my capitalization from Wikipedia,
Bulbapedia, and the actual Pokémon games themselves. So make sure you send a
message to Game Freak telling them that they’re doing their capitalization all
wrong. Until they change the way they use capitalization in their games, I
will not be changing the way I do mine.
I don’t see why stated shouldn’t be a speech tag either, Webster uses it as
one. If you don’t believe me simply look it up online.
I would appreciate if you would at least see if your advice is correct before
forcing it on me. Thank you anyway, but as I don’t particularly think you are
an excellent source of the English language as you got all this wrong, I will
continue to write as I have been.

Care to actually comment on the story itself instead of my high school level
grammar? I’m a sophomore in high school, not an adult who’s graduated college.
I apoligize for small, insignifigant, yet life-threatening, mistakes.

read this quickly and it’s very cliche and a bit predictable:) also, from the
review you gave me you said you don’t like added detail in stories, but detail
is one of the best things about some of the most well-known and famous authors
suchas J.K Rowling, Charles Dickens and John Steinbeck. I think it is very
naive and strange of you to not think detail is good :) writing is about
painting a picture, not just about dialogue, like in your stories. Your story
doesn’t paint a picture at all, it may aswell be a film/play script. So i’m
going to keep up my detail, because i think it is something you lack:)

Maybe you could include something to the effect of POKEMON COMES FROM JAPAN, THEY DON’T HAVE CAPITALS THERE in the copypasta? It might reduce the number of people who just say ‘take it up with Game Freak!’ and never think further about what they’ve just said…

    1. Farla says:

Sticking it in the copypasta would just lead to people debating that point, and it’s really a side issue to the basic “you don’t capitalize based on copyright if the copyright doesn’t exist in-universe”.

“I’m sorry i was at my cousins house when i posted this.”
What? So his cousins does not have spellcheck or what? Just, what?

And I just couldn’t read that comment from the Bister person, its just one big pile of words.

forcing it on me Ha, like you’re actually holding them at gunpoint or something. If you don’t like the advice, don’t take it.

The greater irony in that is that if they had followed their own advice and taken a few minutes to Google “guide to English grammar”, they would find that her advice is indeed correct.
