Thank you. I’ll try to employ better grammar. But if you could also tell me
what you think of the story, that would be helpful too.

Hey, Farla,

I cannot help but notice that you have left a rather interesting review on
Xamem’s “The Hunted,” one that may have been good-natured but was actually
rather scathing. No offence to you, but, while many of the things within this
rewrite do not make sense, there is no need to handle a review such as this
like thrusting a puppy’s nose into a crap on the floor and slapping it clear
across the room.

While I understand you may have a lot of questions, I implore you to be more
kindly to novices. Everyone has awkward starts, and neither Xamem nor you nor
I are/am an exception.

By the by, I’m a little unsure about whether a Pokemon should be lower-capped
or not. In the shows, cards, games, and so on, both the species and the names
are capitalised. This could be because of confused translators or some other
error, but it is a debatable point.

I hope that I did not offend, and feel free to reply, should you want to do
so. Thank you for your time, and happy reading and writing, fellow
authoress/author-with-a-mildly-feminine-n

ame.

That was an automatic correction microsoft word made. Didn’t catch it. Sorry.
(Kinda learned that in grades 3-5 btw…pointing it out would have been
enough)

Look, I appreciate the constructive criticism and all but you haven’t even
said whether you liked it or not. I cannot stand it when people criticise
writing, wording and grammar yet do not even bother to rate the storyline
itself.

I’ll make some of the corrections you mentioned, however you would do well to
mention storyline the next time you review someone’s work. If you have the
time do write all of this, you should also have the time to say something
about the one thing authors usually care about most.

“I have issues with the way characters are acting” is yet another thing not covered by storyline, it seems.

Thanks, your review means a lot to me. I was intending to imply a darker world
than you initially start the games in, but I see what you mean. I will have to
revise my intro.

A response to your review at http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7784969/

First off, I want to thank you for reviewing. It really made me think about
things.

I guess the first thing I need to say is that when I wrote the chapter, I
didn’t really think about what I was typing, only that I thought it sounded
good. I have reread your review and I enjoyed all the stuff you informed me
about.

Now can you answer my question: Should I go back and rewrite it so that it
makes a little more sense?

I really don’t want to confuse people, because I know that I get frustrated
when a story confuses me.

Oh, and with the Hunger Games part, I liked the idea of being forced away from
home and having to fight for your life. Would you say that, instead of forcing
everyone to go on the journey, that it would be better to have kids volunteer
instead? Like, they get to choose if they want to go on the journey on their
fifteenth birthday instead of being forced to?

Please answer back, because I want to make this into a good story, not some
crappy one that nobody enjoys.

——————–

This is part of why I don’t want to respond most of the time.

It really isn’t about if people are polite or rude. My review for the story suggested how to fix it: have it be only some kids getting picked. Now I’m being asked how to fix it. What do they think my answer’s going to be?

And sometimes you end up in these endless loops where the person keeps asking advice but can’t hear it and just asks rephrases the question forever.

Thanks for correcting me. And thank you for reviewing. I’ll try remember this
the next time I make a story.
