Even tempers today, mostly.

Yeah, I got ya. Didn’t notice that when I posted it. However, I didn’t write the prologue or the first chapter, just touched it up from all the mistakes. Your review sounds more personal than helpful. I know what I released is extremely short and not worth a review, but it’s an introduction nonetheless |

First attempt at a story like this. With the “attacks” part, their is a reason this story is called “The Pokemon Samurai”. A lot of the characters will have weapons to perform attacks with. Besides, these two characters are supposed to be undeveloped until chapter 2. |

I capitalize the word Pokémon is the name of a company like Nintendo. I capitalize the names of the Pokémon because it’s the name of a species. |

Oh man, I was scared to get a review from you. I can see why you would believe that Pokemon names shouldn’t be capitalized unless they’re proper names, but I don’t see it like that. No offense. The number rule, from what I have understood, only applies to numbers up to one hundred, so only fifteen needed to written out, but not 500. Thanks for the corrections about docking and channelers. As far as the content of it being a game-based fanfic, don’t you think it would have been a little weird for me to copy and paste exactly what Blue said? Especially since it didn’t go with the emotion I was trying to convey. Blue sounded cocky in that scene. He bragged about how he caught a Cubone after losing the battle to Red. I’m not sure someone who just lost a Pokemon would sound like that. Yes, I know Blue not making it to the Pokemon Center in time is an obvious hole in the theory, and while I could have done a better job in saying why Blue didn’t make it off in time, I honestly wasn’t thinking that hard since this was done for fun. This is me writing my own spin on the theories, not disproving them. I appreciate the review since it caused me to change some things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. At the same time, I don’t think everything you mentioned needed to be changed. Btw, don’t ever review in the Wrestling category. They would hate you. |

Your review hurt me. I won’t lie about that. It frustrated me to see the work I had put so much into torn apart with a few well placed words. I read everything you said in the review you left me, and I was mad, because you were right, damn it. I have a hard time dealing with criticism unless it’s being handled as delicately as possible, and even then it stings sometimes. That’s a part of me, and it’s also my first instinct to ignore criticism when it’s handled like yours was. Still, there’s no denying the fact that most of what you said was right (Pokemon names are supposed to be capitalized – that’s not important right now), and that I do come across as an inexperienced writer, because dagnabbit, no one ever bothered to tell me these rules. I sincerely appreciate that you took the time out of your day to notify me that I’d been doing this wrong all my life. Furthermore, thank you for calling attention to some rather obvious plot holes: why Professor Juniper couldn’t provide Touya with a Pokemon. I’ll be sure to explain that in greater detail – if not in the story then in an author’s note. Also, you pointed out how hilarious you found the paragraph that lists the times Touya’s been left out of their group of four, with a tone that I interpreted as you thought I meant for it to be sad. I didn’t really intend for it to be that way. I was building on the name of my story (“Even One Out”), which is an oddity – usually no one gets left out in a group of four, but Touya has somehow managed to keep winding up the “even one out”, so to speak. It’s supposed to be funny. Also, you said something about there not being rules on the starters. Maybe I missed something somewhere, but I never found something that said there were no rules. Realizing this, along with the fact that I was creating a world with my touch, I opted to fill this lack of rules in with some rules. [Furthermore, Ghetsis has not yet said the solution is to separate all people and pokemon.] I know that I have not covered all of the points you pointed out in your review, but I can tell now that if I try to go on, I’ll start sounding like a child (which wouldn’t be far off – I’m fifteen) and then there will be no way you will even consider taking this seriously. So, I would like to close this thank you message (because it really is – you have no idea, angry as I am, how much you’ve helped me) by asking you not to take this the wrong way, as I have never been able to get my own tone down correctly on paper. Funny, how I can capture other characters so well, then come off the complete wrong way as myself – but that’s beside the point. I really did intend for this to be a thank you note with a respectful tone. -TheDarkRainbow (P.S. I read your Complain About Farla thread, and I find some of the comments on there HILARIOUS! People can be so immature sometimes.) |

All right, I know you don’t approve of capitalizing Pokemon names, but Bulbapedia capitalizes the names, so that’s why I do it too. |

First of all, thank you for the criticism! I’m going to fix my prologue now and be sure to think of your advice when I write anything, Thanks so much Farla! I really love the criticism you gave me and how detailed you were. |

So you expect me to follow the rules of some random person on
http://www.fanfiction.net when it comes to Pokemon capitalization, when she is
in direct contradiction to the games?
Haha, that’s hilarious. Did someone die and make you Queen of All Grammar? I’m
pretty sure when it comes to the actual games and some vain Homestuck
fanfiction writer, I’ll stick with what’s canon.
It’s amazing to me how incredibly stuck-up you are about fanfiction on the
internet. This isn’t actually a profitable medium. You’re just taking
something someone else made and adding onto it. It’s like doing a cover of a
song as opposed to writing an actual song. It’s astonishing that you still
insist that a joke fanfiction based off of an original should be a stunning
example of plot cohesiveness and coherency, obviously living up to your
stunning example of writing pretentious garbage that isn’t even your own
original universe.
Being an actual writer, I almost pity you. Blocked, reported, called my mom,
called my dad, called some tripfags, alerted the FBI, alerted the CIA, alerted
4chan, and called myself.

Someone really did not like being told that rewriting a terrible story doesn’t defend their own plot holes.
