Pokeauthor Special Spotlight

Cyclone130 felt chatty.

Cyclone130 | Your Review
After witnessing your rants on other new pokemon stories, I was looking forward to this. As for telling the girl the story, I never said he poured his life out to her. I actually specified that it was a sugarcoated version. This has been a flashback that was set in motion by him speaking with the girl.

As for the issues regarding capitalization, I am comfortable capitalizing pokemon names. It seems right to me. Sue me.

In regards to the boy’s disdain over a Magikarp, I’m revealing his ignorance of the world. He’s ten at the time. Why must he know what Magikarp evolve into? His parents are obviously protective as they have him a weak starter and prevented it from evolving. There is an Everstone attached to its tail.

As for the money issues, I imagine that in the pokemon world, Magikarp can be bought off people for cheap prices. It would also remove the hassle of the parents catching a pokemon. I’m also going to clarify more on the whole situation later.

The statement about bonding with the Magikarp was more of a casual comment. It wasn’t supposed to be taken so literally. Parents say things to keep their children occupied.

After all of this, I have concluded that you are nothing more than a nitpicking critic. I happen to have a follower who enjoys the story for what it is. I do applaud you for helping some of the less experienced writers on here, but don’t be so harsh and specific over things that aren’t really issues.

Thanks for the rant and good day to you.

You really don’t have much of a grasp of the world, do you.

I’m not even sure how that comment applies to anything I have said. What would possibly lead you to believe such a thing anyway? The only plausible conclusion is that your a cynical critic who thrives off the feeling of superiority. I know the world well enough. I’m happy with my writing. Your review and sibsequent comment have offered no actual help. I feel sorry for you, though. It’s sad to see your potential for actual intelligence go to waste on trying to make people feel bad. Criticism is great. You just don’t know how to give it.

Your ridiculousness, but mostly the fact you’re clearly unfamiliar with other people’s writing.

I’m not even going to correct your grammatical errors. Do I need to be familiar with others’ writing? I’m a different author. I have my writing style. I have my opinions. It’s called fanFICTION for a reason. It doesn’t have to be accurate to your standards. It must be accurate to the FAN’s standards. I didn’t think I would need to explain this to a person as “intelligent” as you, oh wise one. I guess you learn something new everyday. Unless, of course, you’re Farla who seems to already know more than anyone else. I’m sorry for refusing to crumble under your words. I don’t find a reason to do so.

No, no, I wanna hear the corrections. Go for it.

Oh fun! Here we go!

Let’s begin with your first two words. As they are now, it appears you are referring to some ridiculousness that I own. If this is the case, you never said anything about it. You just stated “Your ridiculousness” and went on with something else. Now, if you were implying that I, myself, AM ridiculousness, you should have used ‘you’re.’ Even so, that doesn’t even make sense seeing as how ridiculousness is a noun, not an adjective. After re-reading your comment, I realize, now, that you were simply answering my rhetorical question. I am simply too lazy to delete that paragraph.

As for the rest of your sentence, I feel you left out a word. “but mostly the fact you’re clearly unfamiliar with other people’s writing.” Shouldn’t there be a ‘that’ after the word ‘fact?’

Anyway, I apologize for assuming you wouldn’t respond to my question in the middle of my reply. I had guessed you would simply respond to the message as a whole. Not now I see you only focus on one point I make. This trend continued with your most recent response. Overall, it turns out that you didn’t have as big of an error as I previously thought. My apologies. Next time, I would suggest clarifying that you are responding to the question posed in the beginning if the message. Otherwise, it can be very confusing.

That’s how I’ve responded to you every time.

That’s pretty much what I just said…

[ I had guessed you would simply respond to the message as a whole. Not now I see you only focus on one point I make.]

You missed the fact that’s what I did every time.

And that’s a big deal to you? Wow.

Alrighty, then. This has been fun. It is plain to see I have run you dry of any comment that could possibly get at me, so I will end it with that. If you ever feel the need to rant again, it is my pleasure to shoot you down once more. Feel free to continue reviewing my story as it is updated. I’m hoping to be surprised by a review that actually provides assistance. Good day to you, and may you be fruitful in your future endeavors.

No, but it’s funny given your frantic intellectual posturing it took four before you noticed.

Actually I don’t see how the first comment could be included. Either way, this shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Oh no! I didn’t realize you only responded to one part of my responses! I am unworthy!

But seriously, you need to take a nice, hard look at your priorities.

I’m afraid I’m unsure of what you’re trying to show here.

“That’s how I’ve responded to you every time.” You’re really slow on the uptake.

Are you saying you were responding to my forum post? Alrighty! Now it makes even less sense than previously. I’m glad you have succeeded in avoiding the points that actually matter in my messages. It just goes to show how they really affect you. I just hope, for your sake, that you have at least read the rest if my messages. If not, you will continue to travel down a path of cynicism.

From which I take it you didn’t click the link, which would explain why it came up again.

I did click the link. I see now that the only part of my forum post you saw was the review invite. I assume that’s your reasoning for leading me toward your review request forum. I felt no need to do so as I don’t exactly desire your review. I was only trying to let you know that you may still review while emphasizing the pointlessness of your last.

Your mental leaps grow more impressive by the post.

Was that, heartbeat still, a compliment? Well good golly gosh, it seems as though some progress has been made. It’s still comical to me that you continue to express this air of superiority. Either way, I appreciate the compliment.

You’ve very bad at this, aren’t you?

Well if you say so, your majesty. I guess you truly are a lost cause.

You haven’t been though, this has been great.

Is that sarcasm? It’s been hard to tell lately through your senseless points mixed with a rare useful one.

This has sincerely been great.

Well, I must admit you have caught me off guard. I wasn’t expecting such a change of heart from the critic. I must also admit that it has become tiresome for me. I can no longer tell whether you’re amused, actually greatful, or simply being sarcastic. Either way, this has been a true workout for my intellect.

What makes you think it’s been a change of heart? I don’t do what I don’t want to.

When this escapade began, it appeared as though you looked on me with disdain. You seemed arrogant and acting superior. Now it seems as though you view me as some sort of equal who was able to make you enjoy a conversation. But I can also see where you’re coming from. It just seems like a drastic change to me from beginning to end.

I don’t spend my time deciding where I rank others in the first place.

I don’t believe anybody does. I believe it to be a natural process that one goes through when coming into contact with somebody. Based on your reviews, I believe you to see most others as inferior. The fact that you seem to view me differently at the end of this conversation has shocked me. That is all I’m trying to say.

To rephrase, I have not had a change of heart.

Well than either I’m wrong about your opinion of me now, or I’m wrong about your initial opinion of me.

It’s probably somewhere in the middle.

And that clarifies little to nothing! Wonderful. I really don’t know how to view you anymore, to be honest.

Then and now, I think you overestimated the strength of my opinion.

I guess maybe I have. Although the popularity of your “Complain about Farla” forum says otherwise.

?

The forum that I posted on was created for people to complain about you, correct? It seems to have many, many posts. This would suggest that your opinion actually resonates with people. The fact that you created the forum also suggests that you realize this.

The strength of my opinion on you, I mean – you appear to be assuming either animosity or great friendship.

I wouldn’t say friendship. There are people I view as equals yet not as friends. It’s more of a respect aspect.

Well, either way.

All I’m pointing out is that you seem to have enjoyed this conversation. That leads me to believe you hold some respect for me. That, in turn, contradicts what I previously believed you thought of me. That is all I’m trying to say. Now starting to talk in circles…

Too much of a leap, I’m afraid.

Well I’m not too concerned with it.

It appears as though this conversation has been wrung dry. I am so growing weary of explaining myself constantly. I will leave you with this: Keep up the reviews. People need the criticism. Just don’t be so harsh and (for lack of a better term) evil. Criticism should help improve the writing, not cripple the confidence of the author. I’m not askin you to become bubbly and happy about everything you say. I’m just suggesting that you write your reviews in a way that is more appealing to the author. This site could use better writers. Your reviews could help create some.

Well then, would you like to know my opinion of you since we’re ending the conversation?

Be my guest.

I think you were looking at my reviews thinking everyone else deserved it and expecting that when I got to you, I’d say you were one of the good ones, but I didn’t. And that hurt, so you handled it by deciding this was a fight about which of us got to look down on the other, and as long as you could prove you were better, my review wouldn’t matter any longer. You seem to view interactions as competitions – [ Now it seems as though you view me as some sort of equal who was able to make you enjoy a conversation.] for example, was particularly striking, and the fact you don’t seem to understand I didn’t rank you and still haven’t, even when I said that directly. You think everyone else is behaving exactly as you are, which is not particularly good, especially when combined with such a negative mindset.

I think you’d be happier if you stopped concerning yourself so much with if someone’s your equal or your inferior, and certainly happier if you stopped assuming that’s behind how other people think of you.

I never expected a good review. I expected one that tried to bring me down. I was hoping to either find that I had areas that truly needed improvement, or I would find a review that allowed me to discredit the infamous critic. Your review did the latter. Whatever you may say, up until the end of this conversation, I was working on trying to put you in your place for once. I see now that I have failed. You are simply too stubborn. Throughout this entire ordeal, you have tried to maintain an air about you as though you know something more than I. It only goes to solidify my own opinion of you. It also shows that this entire session has been a complete waste of my time. I only wished to see you come toy our senses, but, once again, you have tried to state your superiority. I’ve grown tired of it. For what I hope to be the final time, good day to you.

So…that’s what was going on there.
