It’s depressing to think that people are likely being so reasonable is because there’s so very few reviews at all.

Ah, thanks for the tip! Can’t always get it right the first time!
Whatever. Honestly, this is what I get for trying to offer a little fan service.
First thing, thank you for tell me about that typo, I fixed it right away.
And by the way, not to be mean or anything, but no matter how much I read your review over and over, I can’t quite get what you’re trying to say. Please, if you would like to take the time, tell me in simpler matters. I think you mean something about…grammar? I don’t know.
And I know this isn’t my place to tell you but, I mean I don’t do it but, if you don’t want people to think you’re being mean…maybe add a smiley face at the end???
You can, and I totally understand if you do, ignore this whole thing and put it in the trash. It’s your review, I have no control over it.
…I’m sorry, but I just have to put it our there: This whole formal thing is getting really weird for me.
Okay! That’s it! I don’t mind you reviewing your stories eventhoughIhavenoideawhatyouaretalkingaboutninetyninepercentofthetime so yeah!
but I just wanna know that if it’s not too much trouble, do you think you could skim a few chapters of my main story, Born for Freedom? You just seem like you know your stuff about grammar and storytelling, and I’d really like to have another opinion on it. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to stories, and I want to see what mistakes I’ve made in my past stories so I can avoid them in future stories :) If you don’t want to read through it, I understand. I just wanted to say thanks for the heads-up on capitalizations!

I’ve never been quite sure how I was supposed to capitalize pokemon names, so to have you correct me is very welcome, honestly. Thank you for pointing that out, and I promise I’ll fix that when I can.

Thank you for all this good advice! (also I know the difference between the its and it’s, I just forget)
My computer autocorrects pokemon to Pokemon (copyright issues maybe?)
I could have ended it better but I thought it would be better to have team rocket be caught before they even commit a crime and Dewgong isn’t using telepathy to talk to her (because if she was everyone else could hear it). I wanted it to be more like she became slightly insane, Dewgong is more of her conscious than anything else. And she didn’t just take off and run from them because she was frozen in fear. (It’s a real thing that happens)
Anyway I hope you keep reading and keep giving me such great notes. It’s people like you who make me a better writer :)
Also, I’m not really throwing all the characters in the fight, some of them will hardly be mentioned, the narrator is just speaking out the girl’s thoughts. Since, you are a beta reader, should I not include those who will only be mentioned a couple of times? Lastly, I want to keep the girl’s name a bit of a secret, even though the reader can assume it’s May, due to the character list on top. Instead of constantly using brunette, should I replace it with pronouns or would it be better to reveal her name at the beginning?
I’m very serious about writing, so thank you again for your help!
First of all, English is my third language
Second of all, some of your facts aren’t even accurate
Pokémon names like “Pikachu” will never be uncapitalised, because it are proper names and not part of the dictionary (Proper names will always be capitalised and I won’t change that)
Third of all, you already posted your “grammar review” under multiple stories on my other account
You always only point out the grammar and your reviews are never about the content of the story, which pisses a lot of people of
If you can’t say anything nice about a story, than just ignore my stories
I don’t need anyone who points out that my English isn’t perfect, but it’s clearly better than the English of most other people, who have it as their third language
If you don’t like my stories then just don’t read them for God’s sake
I’m happy when I’m able to finish a chapter somewhere down the linePlease, just ignore my stories and move on to writers that want your advices
Thank you for reviewing the story Partners in Crime. I am aware that paragraphs have rules, but writing it in the morning well doesn’t generate the best results haha. Though, sometimes I forget those rules from time to time, you seem to be an accomplished fanfic writer from the looks of it and so I trust you know what you are talking about as well which I think it is great for you to be reviewing stories and pointing out the mistakes so that the writers can be more aware of them. I have been writing for awhile and even I forget rules or the smallest of things, I am happy someone would send an honest review especially in regards to the paragraphs, grammar, spelling, or the structure of the paragraph. It enables me to progress as a writer and work on those mistakes so for future chapters or on different fics to maybe make those mistakes less noticeable.
I hope that you have a nice day,

Thanks for your review and yeah I understand about the name thing but I capitalise pokemon names cause they are names and I dont always capitilaise professor cause its a title, unless I’m meant to capitalise it? And about Serena not training Fennekin is that she couldn’t because her dad never let her because if she had a pokémon which could battle she could battle her way out of the base. I kind of understand what you’re saying about the speech, could you explain what you meant by the ‘laughed’ and ‘giggled’ part being in a second category? And the reason I put thoughts in quotations marks is to easily make ot obvious that it isn’t part of speech incase I ever forget to put italics on it. Thanks though this has been useful!

Thank you for informing me. I was trying to find the difference, and which one to use…but the results were too confusing. I just decided to use “lie”, because it means “be in or assume a horizontal or resting position on a supporting surface”, while “lay” means “put (something) down gently or carefully”. I’ll be sure to change it~

Subject: Critical Reviews
Have you ever thought about critically reviewing stories in the real world? I’m pretty
sure you can gain a living from that, and it would save all the writers on this site
from having to deal with your overly-critical reviews. If you are going to review a
story, give the writer a warning because some people can be heavily demoralized by them.
I’m not – because that’s just who I am – but a friend of mine was

Okay. I appreciate the effort you made in informing me of this error of mine. Instead of complaining and writing something along the lines of “don’t be a Hater”, or “no flames”, I applaud you on your critical input. This will help me improve my writing skills, as I myself was wondering whether or not I was making grammatical and/or punctuation mistakes. Some of the speeches I was writing seemed a little dodgy to me, so I thank you again for acknowledging my mistake.
Feel free to keep analysing my Fanfics as critically as you did this Chapter, as I WANT people to criticise my writing. You never learn from being correct all the time.

Listen just because the title says it, I am not gonna make Ash too strong. Hell, I will make him lose to others. Its just that he will be stronger, and no, I am not giving him legendary Pokemon, not until he atleast becomes 16 to 17. For the dialogue, i know i am doing it a little wrong, but I have just lost the concept for proper direct speech. Plus, cut me some slack, i am just 15
Thanks for your reply. Your criticism is appreciated. I’ll admit, I wasn’t feeling too confident about releasing this story out just yet as I wasn’t that happy with it, but I always have so much trouble with opening chapters that I lose motivation in the long run. So I was bumming myself out by constantly thinking of a way to change it but I couldn’t. So, I have been working on chapter one again, and I’m hoping I can do better.
The reason for talking pokemon was because it was a nuzlocke, and the nuzlocke genre always seems to have pokemon speaking. I was pretty much sticking with the genre when I decided this point. Could it still work, or would you recommend going with normal pokemon speech?
The idea behind the sealing of Mewtwo was only one of a few that I had. At the time of writing, I thought it could work, but upon re-reading it, I realise it was a pretty bleh idea. I’ll be editing that with one of my other ideas soon.
The capitalization is something I have been trying to work on, more evident in the first chapter than the prologue. Mainly, for this fic’s purpose, the legendaries are being treated as gods, so they’ll all have capitals as they are the name of the God etc. Unless of course that’s incorrect to do as well? I see there are a few other mistakes besides the legendaries in the prologue though, and I’ll get right on to fixing them.
Also, as a side note, thanks for always seeming to review my work most of the time. I’m grateful for it because it lets me know where I’m going wrong. Not that I’ve managed to fix it yet, but it’s good to know that I do get some feedback on what I write. I’m hoping that I can fix these errors soon so I can actually become a half decent writer.
Um, thanks, I guess. I proofread everything myself, so you can imagine there’s gonna be mistakes and the ones you mentioned are the ones I miss the most. Though, you are actually incorrect about the capitalizations of the names of Pokemon. The word “Pokemon” and all names are always considered proper nouns. The name “Charizard” would be our equivalent to, for example, Felis Catus, the housecat. It’s confusing, but that’s how it is.
Thnks forbthe review, I appreciate it a lot!
Thanks for the help! I haven’t really done that much dialogue writing in my time, but I’ll brush up on the syntax and fix it for the chapters to come.
Firstly, thank you for reading and reviewing my story. Secondly, I thank you for the constructive criticism. I have made changes accordingly, but I have kept the flashbacks as they are. The reason for this is because I find it is easier to tell where the flashbacks begin and end. Also, I sometimes read fanfiction on my phone, so if I put the flashbacks in italics, the italics wouldn’t show up on the screen, so the labels serve as a marking purpose for all devices.

Thanks that was really helpful. I’m pretty sure I used “your” right but I’m glad you made it really clear that I need to work on grammar. I would also appreciate it if you would try to review the actual story and not the grammar. I’m not saying don’t review grammar but most people want to be reviewed on their style of writing.
Here is an example of a review that is actually helpful. This was in a PM about my other story:
“It wasn’t that bad. Sure there were some spelling errors, but none the less it was an okay read. To my sadness, it was rather short. I felt you could’ve dove a little bit deeper into detail about the surroundings and such at the beginning. Though I loved your description of the walk through the forest. The forest section made me want to be in her place with the smell of pine all over her.
Since it was short I don’t really have much to say other then what I wrote above. In the future, I like to see what happens. Very strange how Pacifica invites Mabel to the party. Will Dipper be coming? I hope there will be more character development.
Although the beginning chapter was pretty weak (and a bit rushed because already we’re diving into the plot), your work shows promise.
Continue writing, and this story can be a blast.”
What was the reason for this? “Barley is a grain. It’s often used in beer.”
See the difference. I’d still like to thank you for the review though. Sorry my story didn’t live up to your standards.
I guess I forgot to put no rude comments or flame (Unless Constructive) SO I’m sorry but if you could refrain from Being rude and flaming SO if you don’t like my decisions don’t read.
I’m sure you weren’t trying to be mean, but it just seemed like you were just insulting my story. If you weren’t, and you were just trying to help me, then thanks, but please, please PM me from now on. I don’t want any negative feedback on my stories.
Sincerly,

I honestly don’t care if you are reviewing everybody. Go review your head off! But,
please, just PM me from now on. I know that I am not owed praise, but I really like
praise, and to see a bad review on my brand new story that I had to muster up all of my
courage just to post was not something that made me feel happy. You see, I’m not very
confident in my writing. I wouldn’t post at all if I didn’t have the support of my
friends! I almost wasn’t going to post the chapter today, but I only did because Satoshi
and Touko was nice enough to say that she liked it. Go look at my other stories! The most
reviews I’ve ever had is 11. That just makes me feel like my writing is horrible when I
see reviews like that, and then in turn makes me not want to write anymore. Writing is my
passion. I just love how you can sit down with a pad of paper and a pen and just let your
ideas flow. I was really discouraged when I saw your review. Did you even like the story
at all? It doesn’t seem like you did.
