“I have HUGE plans for the plot. Just give it time. I assure you there will be a lot of character and plot development as the story progresses. Have you read the other chapters?”
my chapters are gonna get longer think of these two chapters like a prouloge and now the chapters start for real the chapter im doing right now is much better than the first two
Let me begin with this: I apologize for the delayed response. I was out of town over the weekend and was unable to access the Internet. I normally reply to reviews within eight hours.
I am chastened to see that you don’t agree with the way I post my material. I do understand that this specific ‘story’ doesnt make sense to those that don’t read my stories, and I respect that you pointed it out to me. However, in that same regard, your blunt approach on the situation leaves me no choice but to explain my reasoning.
I’ve done this before, with officer Magnezone’s files, and If you read the nonstory chapter ban guidelines, nowhere does it state that character bios violate that rule. Although, you do make a valid point. It is true that Victors files are not intended for people that haven’t read my stories. It is for those that are reading my stores, and occasionally need a reminder of what species the characters are, and don’t want to spend the time finding the specific chapter that I post the character bios on in my main story. So I please ask you to understand. Even if you don’t approve, I am doing nothing that violates site rules.
That being said, I do not appreciate the way you handled yourself in that situation. Telling me to ask myself if anyone cares about what I post is disrespectful to me both as an author and a human being. You could have been more respectful in two ways: PMing me your issue with my material, as to avoid posting it publicly, and toning down your utter disregard for my style of writing. I politely ask that you please be respectful if you review my material again. Thank you.

Oh I’m so sorry that I made a typo. “i didnt” realize.

Thank you for pointing out any errors in my story, I’ve only just started writing so your
review helps a lot.
Thank you very much for pointing these errors in my dialogue, I’m inexperienced in the
field of writing.
I’m sorry if that I wasn’t clear but Angela’s job isn’t to give moral support, her job is
completely different than that, I just haven’t said what her job is yet. Her emotional
support role was not intended by Mew, it was a side effect of the Executioner’s
upbringing.
You are completely right putting away the mirror at night would be much more cost
efficient, thank you for pointing this out.
She is most definitely a sue, I’m sorry if my character isn’t developed, its just, again,
I just started writing.
Sorry, it’s ‘by accident’ you are correct.
I’m so sorry, that was pretty clumsy.
Again, so sorry about the spelling. It’s not just that she’s ‘too small to be a trainer’,
it also says that she is weak, her smallness (Sorry for the weak vocab) just adds to her
weakness.
Mrs. Paris wanted the moment to be special, she didn’t just want to hand her the pokemon
without any celebration of any kin…

Okay, thank you for the correction, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for the well thought out reviews. You raise some valid points, which I’d like to address.
I’ve been trying to bring a somewhat more realistic Pokemon world into my stories. I haven’t hit it yet in my plotlines, but trainer-Pokemon relations, what being trained is like for a Pokemon and what it takes for them to trust a human’s judgment over their own, is a major theme I’m trying to address. Suffice it to say here that Tracy trusts that if Ryland tells her to attack, there’s a good reason for it. This is something I’ll be exploring in much greater detail in other stories; one of the disadvantages of this setting is that these stories are necessarily snapshots.
Poke Balls are another thing I’ve thought about a lot – you know, maybe Team Plasma had a point. I can’t see Pokemon just being happy carried around in balls all the time, and that is something I intend to genuinely address in other stories. I have a full page of ruminations about Poke Balls in the journal section of my DeviantArt, and this is the best I’ve been able to realistically come up with and still fit the games.
I added the part about Vaporeon’s gills because they’re only mentioned in the Gen III Pokedex. Their placement and function I sort of made up (at one point, I was considering writing it such that a Vaporeon’s lungs can work in both water and air). My other story, Tyler’s Search, ends up exploring Vaporeon physiology and abilities pretty thoroughly, so I’ve had to invent details that aren’t supplied from canonical sources. See Tyler’s Search ch. 17 for where exactly the water-breathing part comes from.
Also, I know capitalizing Pokemon species may not be ideal, but since I grew up referencing the games, Bulbapedia, and all their capitalization (but not the anime, nor PMD), it just feels wrong to lowercase them. Maybe one day I’ll get over it. I also capitalize things like Trainer/Catcher both to show that wild Pokemon look at them as a sort of featureless group, The Enemy, and that among owned Pokemon it’s sort of a title, not just an occupation. Perhaps not the best, but it’s the convention I’ve set for my stories.
The remark about Umbreon and dark moves primarily references Dark Pulse, which is described in the games as “a dark aura filled with horrible thoughts.” I interpret that to mean that it’s used with the specific intent of causing pain, not just winning a fight, and requires dredging up painful/dark memories and emotions for that purpose. This is also a reference to an Umbreon named Zahna in my Tyler’s Search story, who in particular has a problem with this. I’ll admit it doesn’t apply to all dark-type moves. However, I’ve always thought Umbreon should have access to other moon-based moves like Moonblast, despite not being a fairy type – I usually associate them much more closely with moonlight than darkness.
Rieka’s story might need a little perspective, because Kamzez97 gave me her age as several millennia old, due to something that happened to her in an ancient temple. He also said she was completely alone until his character encountered her. I ended up with a very different story and world than the one I usually work with (for example, her evolution wasn’t instantaneous and involved no glowing), so she turned out fairly unique. My logic was that most Eevee that die in that environment either die of old age or getting eaten. The fact that Rieka suffered near-fatal injuries (keeping her in the snowdrift for days) at a young age, without being eaten, makes her somewhat unique. She’s not the first Glaceon, but they’re rare in this time and not seen by Eevee as being a related species. Eevee do adapt a degree of cold resistance normally, but actually evolving requires far more exposure, at least in this story. For this series, working with whatever non-canonical details people give me about their OCs is half the fun.
Thanks again for taking the time to read through these and give thoughtful responses. I do appreciate the feedback.
That’s a good point about the capitalisation, which is something I made a point in not doing. However, I did somewhat rush the first chapter, hence why there was more the one kind of mistake. I will remember to update and take out the capitals when addressing Pokemon species that are not their actual names.
As for the dialogue, I am still a student in Creative Writing in my second year, so I am not 100% on my writing skill, which is partly why I have started this account. My tutor/mentor is really my only form writing and grammar definition. I am told (and she is a PHD mind you) when writing dialogue, we should only use quotation marks, as it is the narrator quoting a character, whereas as speech marks “I said this” is only used when characters are quoting another character within dialogue. Do not quote me on that, because again, I am not completely certain. ^^”
I will your points into account, as you are actually trying to help me and I am still a bit shaky with dialogue in general. Though I would like to confirm if your description of dialogue is correct with my mentor if that is okay?
And thank you for reading my first chapter.
I want to thank you for your honest critique of my story, and that it was much appreciated. I also wanted to let you know that I did make some corrections to it, which will hopefully improve it further. And again, thank you for your constructive feedback.

Dear Farla,
I understand your complaints, however, when it comes to Pokemon (note the capital P), I
can’t stand seeing Dialga and Palkia being written as “dialga and palkia”. It
would be like someone being able to stand hearing someone brag about beating the Champion
with a level one Magikarp.
I will write my own stories my own way. However, I do appreciate the creative criticism.
The only reason I sent this PM was to inform you that I saw your review. However, I will
not be editing the capital choices on my stories.
With all due respect,
James Prodigy.
P.S. I do understand your logic, however, I see several more stories using that form of
capitalization, with no mistake. So, understand when I say majority.

ok i will keep it in thought
Just throwing this up in case anyone wants to check it out.
Thank you so much for this insight into my story. I’m currently writing the second chapter for this story and I’m going to take your advice in hand. The first chapter was just something that came into my head so it is kinda funky but I did have many faults in it, no excuses. Again, thank you for helping me become a better writer.
Sorry, I’m just rusty and not as hyped. When I first started writing stories, it was on Microsoft word… Now I have notebook, I could just try to get it….
Also, thank you for commenting and pointing out the issues.
Seriously, Nick The Pikachu2. :)

Hey there. I do really take to heart every review I get. I will take into consideration
on what you say about my writing style. But when it comes to OCs,Ill do what I like with
my story ok. So thanks for the review

Thank you for reviewing, but I promise it will be more original than it is now, and yes, I have HUGE plans for the plot. Just give it time. I assure you there will be a lot of character and plot development as the story progresses. Have you read the other chapters? Those are a little more exciting.

I apologize for my shitty story and I understand 100% if you have been offended. This was to be my first fanfic and I wanted it to be unique and adventuresome. Whereas I have been writing for years, I have recently experienced a writers block and was under pressure with little time to write. This is due to work and school. I also have trouble writing with this device (iPad) and found it very difficult to write and post stories. Grammar and punctuation are not my strongest subjects and now that I re-read I understand what you were getting at. I am simply going to stop with fanfictions and continue writing my own personal soon to be copyrighted book series, The Chronicles of Fjiori. It’s about my fantasy world basically. So don’t be looking forward to part two.
Oh, I didn’t know that. Thanks for telling me this. Not trying to be sarcastic.

Your review has been noted and promptly ignored. I will write this story however I want.
——————–
Thank you so much for pointing these out to me! I’ll be sure to tweak these points before I upload the next chapter!
Hi,
Firstly, thanks for your tips on speech and punctuation. I will admit, I’m not the strongest in those areas.
However, I’m just going to point out that I’m not being (or, at least, trying to be) sexist towards girls. When Auran says, “She’s a girl.” I’m not implying that girls are inferior to men in any way. As a girl myself, I was saying that generally, girls are a lot more sensitive to things than boys are (who would probably rather play football, than spend their time thinking over pointless arguments such as who has to pay). And, for the record, that was an example, not saying that girls can’t play football either.
I have merely observed in real life that my friends who are girls react more sensitively to things my boy friends would let go of. That isn’t being sexist at all.
Also, when I say, “Eve was to be the first female to take over caring for Star Town.” I couldn’t have meant it in any offensive way. Before, I stated that Eve’s grandfather had founded the village, which had been passed on to his only son, and now the father’s only daughter (did that make sense?). Anyways, it wasn’t a case of choosing male over female, but simply the first (or only) born child.
I apologise if my writing seemed sexist or offended you in any way. I really would never be sexist towards girls, especially considering that I am one myself. Thanks for the review – I’ll be more aware of this in future chapters.
Yeah I know, It had little to no plot, guess that makes mine another one of those kinds of stories :), P.S how do you edit chapters?
The reason why is because when I first wrote SIQML, I tried writing seriously, but when I noticed a lot of plot holes, I filled them up with major nonsense. P.S I changed the title of the story, Sometimes I Question My Luck.
When I do write the serious version, could I ask you about your opinion on how to improve it?
Now I’m only a few days back! Just a hundred more or so and I’m done.
It’s like letting this slide and just reviewing was a terrible idea or something.
I want to post this link to the Chance fanfic because it was really really hard for me to find. DP is short for danny phantom and chance is too common a title, and apparently there’s some sort of wildly popular pokemon/power rangers webcomicthing that kept filling up all the deviantart searches. Ahrg.
It’s just as neat as the rec says.
