“No reviewer should tell people their story sucked just because they didn’t like it.”
Thanks for the Info, I’ll go back and change a few things, but I will
keep the names of Pokemon in caps and as I said in the authors notes, i
am completely ignoring levelling.
Thanks for the Review!

I am indeed going to focus on the characters and my additions to the
story, as per your suggestion, so thanks for that. I actually decided to
begin this story after seeing the end of your long, text-based let’s
play of Pokémon Black, so I plan to go into great detail on Team Plasma
and correct the various Plasma-related plot issues. This doesn’t mean
you’re obliged to keep reading, of course. As for the semi-colons, I
assure you I am keeping them to a bare minimum.
Yours sincerely, Aardvark123.

Wow. Nice job. Respect. You did a spectacular job pointing out the flaws in my story. I’m glad it caught your eye.
Now, quick question: how do you think I should start it if it’s going to
be his thought process while he’s battling Gold? What parts should I
take out? I definitely listened, and I’m planning to use your advice
about not making it a summary. You don’t have to give me anything, of
course, but I’d love some advice if you’re willing to give it.
Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it when some one take some
of their time to point out my flaws. At least you care about it.
Another thing, English is not my first lenguage and I’m actually putting
what I learned into practice. So I’m sorry if I’m sounding pretencious
when that’s not my intention at all.
I don’t know what semicolons are. Again I’m just doing things on instincts.
Ash has flaws. A lot of them He is actually starting better because he
actually put time to prepare to be a Pokemon Trainer and Delia took
matters into her hands too. I don’t think any sane mother would let
their ten yers old kids do a journey where they could possible die.
The times I used the Pokemon names like in “Charmander” were becase I
was refering to my name. If you look closely you’ll notice that.

Oh, i’m well aware that fics which accept characters from people usually don’t do well. I
felt like doing one of these though, you’re really not making a valid point at all. This
is a fanfiction site, not the novel Olympics.
That’s your opinion. I used a single semi-colon throughout the entire chapter (two at
most, although i’m sure I didn’t) and it was used correctly. Once again, not a valid
point, you’re just being pedantic.
Disdain fits. Also, it’s called building atmosphere. Have you ever picked up a book
before? Not only do some authors go on for ages, but it shouldn’t matter what is seen as
the “best” way of going about it, because people’s writing styles differ.
A simple mistake, I already know.
No, you know what’s REALLY jumble? That paragraph of “criticism.” Once again,
you fail to make a SINGLE valid point. Everything is based on your biased opinion (I say
biased because you’re clearly desperately attempting to find things you can call
universally poor as an attempt to insult my writing, simply because you dislike either it
or me for whatever reason) and everything you …

I think you should stop Flaming and Critisizing. You are a burden to him
and you are making it difficult for him to write. SO SHUT UP!!!
That would have been a lot more appropriate to PM me about instead of posting in my fic man. Not cool.
Again, my sincere apologies for last time. I know I acted abit immature
(Sorry. It’s in my character.) and though that doesn’t justify my
actions, I am still very grateful for the advice. I’ve gone back and
fixed the slight plot hole. I don’t know if it’s enough and I may end up
revising it but I cleared my intents on Serena’s love for Kalos. I also
went back and rewrote a few akaward sentences. I know it’s not the
greatest but like I said, I’m still a beginner. ^ _ ^ Thanks again
though and thank you for your time.
Thanks for reviewing. I’m not even going to try to defend my story
because like I said, I just wrote it and posted it to get it out of my
system. It probably deserved a terrible review. In general though, I
don’t count myself as a great writer, so I’m glad for the tips you gave
me. If there are any other writing tips that you have, I would love to
hear them so that I can better myself as a writer.
I was planing on rewriting it anyway. I haven’t gotten many OCs and it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting any soon.

I want to put some of my, probably non inspirational, words in here. The very first Fan
Fiction I wrote, she reviewed it. I appreciated the grammatical corrections and all that
jazz, but as I read more into the lengthy review, she told me that my story had made no
sense. That the characters shouldn’t be acting like that. It was the first chapter of the
story and she accuses the girl of being an idiot and some more mean crap.
I replied, trying to be nice. I told her I appreciated the review and the grammatical
issues it had. I then told her that I was making the story different from the other
stories I have read about my subject. I told her that I did not want to fight her on
something I knew neither of us was going to win.
She responded back, fighting why I am making my story different and that it was more dumb
then anything.
So, I being the more sane one, blocked her.
I thought that maybe after I replied to her, that we could just say, “Hey, yah that
makes sense, maybe you can add this or this into it.” But nah, just more hate and
criticism. I feel like she thinks that if the story you write doesn’t match her ideal,
you are a complete stupid idiot who has no reason to live.
No reviewer should tell people their story sucked just because they didn’t like it.
Well, that is all.

You are wrong.
If you ever go to Pokemon.com you will see that they capitalize the
species name as well as Pokemon such as dawn’s Piplup.
Also if your going to bitch about every Pokemon story you read. Don’t read them at all!!!!!!

SAY ANYTHING ABOUT INDENTING EVERY SINGLE TIME SOMEONE DIFFERENT BEGINS
TO SPEAK OR I WILL BLOCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to erase my very first story, because of this sorry excuse for a beta reader, named Farla, posted a bad review, when she didn’t have a clue what she was talking about.
Dear Swamputz, just what do you think a review is?
“To review the story and leave nice feedback.”
“To leave nice feedback.”
“(Sorry. It’s in my character.)”
It’s like apologizing for theft by saying “sorry, I just wanted to have your money.”
“I had to erase my very first story, because of this sorry excuse for a beta reader, named Farla, posted a bad review, when she didn’t have a clue what she was talking about.”
Sweetie, you didn’t “have” to erase jackshit. You chose to because you aren’t mature enough to handle criticism.
But how could she possibly update a story knowing there was a review on it telling her how to paragraph????????
While I was reading The Monk, I found a passage that proves that all people who whine about critique cramping their for-fun fics are wrong: http://legalist217.tumblr.com/post/75069895952/then-my-lord-you-do-not-think-these-lines
That’s how I feel whenever people tell me they’re doing things for popularity or it’s because everyone else does things. The whole point of fanfic is you can do something else for once!
We have plenty of good replies, yet people here only focus in the negative ones. I’m genuinely curious about the reason of that.
Because politely accepting criticism should be basic and doesn’t particularly deserve praise. Or at least, ideally shouldn’t. Kind of like how Farla doesn’t praise people for knowing how to use commas.
It depends, a young person accepting a critique in a mature way is a example of a reply that deserve praise or at least recognition. I just wish the comments here were a little more balanced.
People here do occasionally comment on general trends of niceness, but there’s just not that much to say about polite responses individually. While I strongly disagree with that terrible-sitcom justifying trope about all good families being the same whereas dysfunctional families are all crazy in their own unique ways, something similar does appear to be true of fanfic review replies.
Though there are some exceptions. That Ammy person who keeps declaring she’ll definitely make Farla her friend, for example, is imo uniquely adorable. But I hadn’t said so before because it feels kind of condescending to comment on. I’m okay making condescending comments about people who are behaving badly, though, so I single out them instead.
There’s just not much to say about someone not flipping out. It’s like how newspapers are about the one guy who murdered someone and not the hundreds of other people who didn’t.
