Some SYOC weirdness, but chill otherwise.
Sorry, I’m going to have to reject this oc right off the bat.
Why?
How so? All forms are filled out.
I did read the first chapter. I don’t see how anything there contradicts my submission. Can you please give me a clear answer instead of dancing around my questions? What, exactly, is the problem here?
Wait, is it supposed to be this… “don’t forget to title your message SYOC for PMD fic!”? That in the middle of a paragraph at the very bottom is not exactly clear advertising, especially since it’s after all the important stuff. It’s far more likely for a skimmer to see it than someone who read from top to bottom. I also assumed that was a general request to submit a PM with a title that made it clear this was a submission, because you don’t have a monopoly on PMD fic. If you’re going to do this sort of thing, you need to convey what you want more clearly.
SYOC authors continue to have no idea how to properly vet things or how to communicate.

This was some amazing advice. If you don’t want to be my beta reader then do you know of anyone else would want to be?
Directed them to the beta signup thread.

Thanks a whole lot, St Elmo! Sometimes those mistakes slip through, so things do need a little polishing (it has been a while since my last story here). I’ll try to make the next few chapters a lot more accurate, thanks!
And of course, thanks for taking the time to let me know; not a whole lot of people will do that, you know!

How am I supposed to know that?
Reading the rules and, I dunno, common sense? It shouldn’t be surprising to learn story chapters are for story content.
Boby335I want to thank you for reading and reviewing my fanfic for one and for two thank you for pointing out what I did wrong. It sucks being criticized however I did need some of that. I was a little afraid of writing more in this chapter because I thought that it would give too much away, but you are right. As it stands now all Ben is seen doing now is just walking and sleeping with nothing to do. Not an exciting chapter at all. Onto another issue I have such an inconsistent schedule with uploading chapters that a beta reader is somewhat impossible at the moment. I have another question though when you wrote about how I formatted my dialogue wrong I double checked the sentence you gave as an example and I saw nothing wrong with it. It could just be me though. Any who thank you again man I will take this to heart and try to make the next chapter, or rather, the updated first chapter better.

Ah, sorry, the paragraph doesn’t directly address it. It’s an extension of this: [The only exception to this is if the next sentence doesn’t contain a speech verb. In that case, the second part is considered a separate sentence, so it’s written as [“Hello.” She grinned], never [“Hello,” she grinned].] You have non-speaking sentences leading into dialogue with a comma, which doesn’t make sense, since you can’t lay awake a sentence.

Weird, what a vague little dummy check requirement. Normally I would do something like “if you understand these terms, include the words ‘pumpkin sharpshooter’ in your character profile”, but I’ve seen some other weird ones applying for jobs, like there’s a space for your CV and cover letter as separate files in the system, but the ~secret test~ is to merge them and submit them as the resume file. I guess.
