The Other Pokeauthors, Part 5

“I was about to talk about how your review mainly focused on my grammar which I know definitely needs work when it comes to Pokémon, and not at all about the overall story, but then another review came in about the story, and no grammar, so both reviews met equilibrium there.”

Thank you for noting me that my summary was poor written. I’ve fixed it to look better though it may take time to load it, If it still isn’t to your liking I’m sorry as I am new to this. If you could help me with it (if it’s still wrong) then I would appreciate it.

I will also fix the format of the first chapter in due time, again thank you for your criticism

Thanks for the review! They really do help.

Concerning your review: I’ll try to tone it down in the next chapter. That second paragraph _was_ important though, as it was the ‘start’ of Astrid’s journey. I guess I may have overdone it description wise, but I like it the way it is (for now).

Hey, at least it’s constructive criticism, and not a review just saying my story hurts to read, so I thank you for that.

I was about to talk about how your review mainly focused on my grammar which I know definitely needs work when it comes to Pokémon, and not at all about the overall story, but then another review came in about the story, and no grammar, so both reviews met equilibrium there.

I’ll definitely take your information into account when writing in the future, so thanks for the helpful information!

Thanks for the critique

I truly appreciate the critique on my story. Not a lot of people would take time to do that, so I’m really grateful. I am still a beginner with writing, so there are bound to be a few mistake, but I’m glad you didn’t act out about it.I’ll go back and make some revisions, and hopeful fix some of the issues. Dialogue is something I’m trying to get the hang of.

Sorry no trolls will be in this story and I don’t see any rules against this form of writing

Thanks for the feed back! I know it sucks so I’ll try and fix these problems and thanks for not being a complete asshole about it like others are. This is my first fanfiction so I knew it would look terrible, but now I know what to improve.

Oh and the “boys and girls were all good looking!” thing. That was supposed part of the joke. It was supposed to sound unconvincing, but I could make it more obvious. Again thanks :D

I’ll fix this first and then head on to “Chapter 2: A Bad Start, A Painful Ending” in about a week. — (Terrible sneak peak to kind of make up for terrible writing. Lol.)

But anyway enough rambling and poor excuses from me. Thanks again, and even though Chapter 1 was bad I hope you continue reading! (Doubt you will but I can dream!)

For some reason this person continued to pester me to read their story for a really long time, never taking my hints that I didn’t want to read their creepy misogynistic fetish fic. Why don’t the gen fic writers care this much?

Thanks for the feedback I will do that when I make the next chapter

Seriously why. The fetish fic is the one time I actually am out to be a tyrannical monster who crushes little authors’ dreams and then they just give me this. Truly we are in the Bizzaroverse.

Subject: Read my story

Read my story its called Dark and Psychic.

I’m not sure what my response was. Either I said I didn’t do requests, or I said it was terrible. They threw a fit and blocked me, so I can’t see.

Thanks!

Well I’m trying to find someone but no one wants to, if you can find a beta reader I’ll let them work it out.

Ah, but I have the yin to your yang, it appears:

My main complaint with the last review was that it focused solely on my grammar, and not the story. Now here you are, talking about the story and not my grammar, so I guess both reviews just met equilibrium, haha.

Honestly, I thought the only noticeable parallel between both stories would be the intro, but I guess I let too much of the original shine through. This was really the only chapter where I wanted to do this anyway, so anything after the first chapter will be entirety my writing. I’m glad you at least liked it.

And thanks, I tried my best to make some of the interactions between characters feel as real as possible. As for your qualm with Silver, I would say he’s just like Arianna, and wants people to shut up. And he knows exactly what to say to do so. I wouldn’t imagine he cares whether or not they believe him.

Granted, the reason I didn’t go over grammar was because the previous review already had, and I also thought that the whole “totally stole my opening from a different story” schtick was more pressing.

    1. Mini-Farla says:

Oh wow, they copied the opening? That is pretty heinous. I’m a baby fanficcer so I don’t notice these things.

      1. Stairway to Elysia says:

        Their intro paragraphs:
        [“Mother fucker!”

Enter Arianna Athelina Gwendolyn Estelle Foster, also known as Ari, Stella, Gwennie, and ‘The Destroyer of Dwarves’. She is a very headstrong and independent young woman, trainer of fifty-two seconds, the person least tolerant of your shit, as well as a level eighty-three Dark Elf thief in Oblivion. She is also about to embark on a pokémon training adventure, although not the kind which involves the collecting of eight shiny yet senseless little gems.

        “Mrrr-eeep!”

And this is Mary, the very un-cleverly named Mareep given to Arianna by her beloved boyfriend. Mary is just like Arianna; stubborn and independent, which are obviously not desirable traits in a pokémon. Before being forced into becoming a trained pokémon, this particular Mareep was a nice and carefree little one, always grazing in the fields with its friends. Post forced capture, it’s now become a rather unfriendly little shit, as evidenced by the fact it just electrocuted its own trainer.

These two now-partners hate each other with a passion, don’t get along at all, and wish ill fates upon the other. However, they do have one thing in common aside from iron will and a mutual hatred: They will not let anybody fuck with them and get away with it. Together, they will have to face the world following the disbandment of a certain major crime organization, and learn to work as a team before it’s too late.

This twisted yet comedic world is the product of lots of caffeine at four AM in the morning, mindless ramblings between two friends, and the surprising formulation of plot despite being horribly sleep deprived. Being written for the pleasure of your lovely eyes, I present to you:

The Grand Spectacular Adventures of Arianna Foster]

The intro paragraphs of Ree Majors’ Wonderful Journey, which I’ve only read the first chapter of, although the copying was admittedly still quite obvious. It’s a fairly popular OC trainer fic with like 700 reviews and such.

        [“Fuck you!”
Enter Ree Adelaide Majors, trainer of exactly forty-seven minutes, brand new owner of a snivy, lover of foul language, possessor of delusions of grandeur, and general ass.
        “Sni!”
Enter Mister Snivy Whiplash, her somewhat imaginatively named starter. She would swear up and down she thought he looked like the villain from her favorite old cartoon. He simply went with it because it made him feel fanciful.
These are the creations of a twisted world, fighting against time and fate and that very same world to achieve eight shiny, senseless little gems. Their goal is not unique, and is in fact shared by most of the training population of Unova—those bright-eyed, idealistic young children, the future of the region. What sets these characters apart is their journey, their strenuous, teary, joyful, heavy, lighthearted, and fantastic journey. It will have ups, it will have downs, it will shed blood, it will shed tears, and very possibly, it will touch your heart.
So, submitted for your consideration, this is
        Ree Majors’ Wonderful Journey]

I tried to point out that “homage” and “I changed the nouns in your work and then dropped a mention at the end after a review pointed out the uncredited plagiarism” aren’t quite the same thing, but I never got a response.

The introduction from Ree Majors’ Wonderful Journey, which I admittedly have only read the first chapter of but could still vividly recognize the intro paragraphs. (It’s fairly popular for ff.net — around 700 reviews, 600 favs/follows, etc):

Their response was that the similarities were a homage, and I never got a response after I pointed out that not crediting when blatantly stealing someone else’s work is probably the worst way to pay tribute.
