I received a few revenge reviews during the week Enki was reviewing. I am not certain if people thought they were me, or if this is simply coincidence.

You wouldn’t write about an animal or mouse or dragon, so you shouldn’t write about pokemon or pikachu or charizard. The only time you actually write is if you’re using it as a crutch for your crippling insecurities, ie, Nitpicking 10-11 year olds and their stories and making fun of the responses on your personal side blog. This is sad because you should only write when you yourself have proper skills, and are not just writing empty worlds full of empty names or places or things. Similar reasoning should be applied to any other lifestyle endeavors you’re thinking of pursuing, like your career or friendships. Before you message me about this, please look at this fanfiction based on a real life story: dragon-quill (d o t) net to make sure your life’s purpose can’t sink any lower

Oh hey! I remember you! The guy who constantly criticizes works of art and doesn’t give constructive criticism but instead beats into the head of whoever he/she decides to rag on a bunch of nonsense pokes of offensive criticism! Woo, man aren’t YOU the coolest account on this site! I hope one day I get experienced enough to feel the complete need to drop a book of EVERYTHING I dislike about a FanFiction, the word for an artist’s conception of a fantasy story in their own mind! Boy, I can’t wait until I’m that negative – Until I’m that person who can’t be happy with the work of others and must instead project my inner insecurities onto those who don’t have as much writing experience as myself! Bottom line: Stop ripping on people who write on this site. I mean I’ve seen dozens of reviews you have given other people just since I got my original review from yours truly a couple months ago. Neither of these reviews highlighted any good that they’ve done. You spread negativity in a site where people do what they want to do and get away with it because nobody does harmful things without discipline from staff that ACTUALLY work for this site! I mean, how mentally screwed up are you to actually think it’s a great idea to post your thread link in the reviews of EVERY review you give? It’s spam? Not to mention the amounts of YOUR FanFiction’s that have flaws and even contain language in the summary? Talk about my summaries not having any detail, you need to look at the large variety of yours. Literally one of them only has a few words that doesn’t tell the reader a thing! You’re the world’s biggest hypocrite and I hope you know that the next time you post your thread in a review – spreading negativity while acting like a complete jerk to younger people. You need to grow up and move on with your life instead of sitting on this site and waiting for a writer to drop something you can rip apart.

Please tell me what parts of my review were “offensive”, and how so. Nothing I wrote was intended to offend, and I do not believe I ever did so.
If you’d like to show me how it’s done, see this thread: https://www.fanfiction.net/topic/11834/145347524/1/So-I-saw-your-reviews-and-I-think-you-should
If you think my stories are terrible, tell me the specifics in a review so I can learn from them.
If you don’t want my reviews, block me.
Of these options, they chose to block me. Disappointing.

Hi there, i apologize about issues with my grammer. I honestly hadn’t noticed i made any serious mistakes and will get to fixing it right away. The second thing is i would to ask some questions.
A) do i need to change the world tag if the world being used only contains elements of the anime but not the anime world?
B) did i accidentally miss a more suitable tag for the world of this story?
I thank you for your time and await your reply, even if it is only to resolve this discrepancy on the forums.

If it’s based on the anime and you’re not using major elements from the other versions, then yes, you should tag it as anime.
And no, the only tags are anime, games, manga, and “any”.

I thank you for replying and would like to say that the story will contain major elements from both the games and the anime. It’s more or less set in its own world So i really don’t really have a more appropriate tag other than any.
Again, thank you for your time.

Thank you for the information!!! I will change the battle scene asap. It will make it a bit confusing but rules are rules. I am going to add a rules and plot page to the story. Also Rowlet and Nebby will be main characters so that’s why I capitalized the names.
It’s weird to name a pokemon after their species, though. You’re not named “Human”, are you?
Rowlet will have a nickname as tradition in a Nuzlocke challenge
In the next chapter he will get the nickname Rune because of a scar on his head.
The format of the prelude chapter has been changed and a rules page has been added. I will make sure not to do a script type scene againA response to your review at https://www.fanfiction.net/r/12885979/
Hi,
Thanks a lot for taking the time to think out critique for me like that. I really appreciate it and will definitely consider what you’ve said here! I hadn’t thought of the line-break clarity thing either so thank you for pointing that out to me.
As for the final point, yeah I fully realise that most Pokémon characters are very simple and almost all of my work is essentially filling in the gaps. That said, I know some people have expectations for certain characters even if they have very minimal canon dialogue or characterisation and I didn’t want to stray too far from GameFreak’s minimal interpretations either if that makes sense.
+When I say “canon compliant” I simply mean I intend for it to fit within/work around canon, but I will of course be expanding on the very basic characters established and giving them stories that are my own, so yes large portions of their backstory and experiences will be OC. Sorry if that wasn’t clear enough!
Thanks again!

I’m REALLY getting tired of these reviews of yours, along with SEVERAL OTHER authors

Hello,
Holy crap, you’re good at this. I really appreciate this review for being so in-depth with the worldbuilding elements, as I was curious about how that would be received. It’s nice to find someone who’s as anal as Pokemon lore as I am, possibly even more. I won’t address each point you’ve raised since there will be answers for most of them later on, but I’ll answer the ones that won’t spoil later chapters as well as your issues with SPaG.
I’ll fix the chapter titles in the next update.
About the capitalization thing, lots of people have differing opinions when it comes to it. Not capitalising it would make more sense in the context of that world, but I’ve read fics that have different ways of styling it, so ultimately, it comes down to personal preference for me. I just prefer it that way since I’m so ingrained in seeing the species name capitalised, and I know a lot of readers will overlook that part in the end anyway. I understand if it’s not your thing though.
‘Clever tactic, but lucario don’t have opposable thumbs. They shouldn’t be able to operate such a complex mechanism.’
Good point. However, Turtwigs are even more impaired in that area and nothing stopped them holding a pair of drumsticks in the anime, so I’m going by that same logic. Meowths shouldn’t be able to play guitar either.
The tidbit about the dragons ‘being the ones in charge of labour’ was unclear, so thank you for calling that out.
‘I mean, what would happen if a gyarados wanted to ride the train? It’d probably take up a whole car!’
That should be a clause in my Pokemon Lawbook. ‘If your Pokemon can’t fit through the doors, don’t let them on board.’
‘Charizards aren’t dragons, though?’
Whoops. I mean, they could pass for dragons if it wasn’t for their type, but that’s a good point.
A beta reader pointed out the dialogue formatting and the incorrect use of capitalised pronouns after spoken dialogue, which I’m surprised showed up here as frequently as you’ve pointed out. I should really be more careful with that in the future and find some way to kick that bad writing habit, as well as set aside some time to fix the typos and grammatical inconsistencies in a future update.
But again, thanks for leaving such an in-depth review. It’s nice to see that my world has been received positively by a few people already, so that as well as your little critiques are encouraging, and motivate me to get better at my craft. I noticed you’re a part of Farla’s community, so I might lurk around there for a bit as well.

Hmm. I don’t put much stock in the anime, see; I think most fic writers put more thought into the world than it does. It’s possible that pokemon all have lowkey telekinesis or something, but if they can use tools it raises the question of why they’re not on top of the social order, because tool use is the only thing humans have over them. I did like how you did have Shine having a lot of difficulty with holding things.
[That should be a clause in my Pokemon Lawbook. ‘If your Pokemon can’t fit through the doors, don’t let them on board.’]
Fair, but there are plenty of pokemon that are short but still long and voluminous. It’s more like — in general, what happens if a whole bunch of pokemon take advantage of the free rides to totally crowd out the humans?

Your right. I was never good at writing. Also there is Pokémon later, these first few chapters are kind of like a beginning.
Also thanks for the constructive criticism. I was kinda hoping someone would point out the weak points, so I can try to fix them.A response to your review at https://www.fanfiction.net/r/12888114/
Thank you for letting me know what are my faults. I will certainly take this review into my account. I like critics who are open about other’s mistakes and also give them suggestions to improve them.
Definitely thanks for letting me know, and I hope that my upcoming stories will be better than what it is here.
