So…Battle Royale.
I read maybe half of the manga, the official English translation that rewrote the story to be about a TV show. I made many comparisons to it while reading the Hunger Games, mostly to the effect of how kids in the latter were emotionless drones compared to kids in the former. That said, the manga was hardly without its own issues, and I’m interested to see how the book compares.
So now we reach what the book actually terms as Ch1.
Now for some details about this Program of childmurder games.
We’re told that the Program, which every schoolchild knows about, involves fifty classes a year since 1947. So that’s forty kids a class, times fifty, times fifty: 100,000 kids have died so far.
So now everyone’s sitting quietly again. In the back, someone throws up.

PART TWO
MIDDLE STAGE
Yup, we’ve passed some milestone! Bear in mind the book is nowhere near done. There are a total of four parts in this book. That means we’re one-fourth in now, and with one-fourth of our student cast dead. I doubt the author will manage to keep the two even, though, I think it’s just a coincidence. I should also mention that the book is about eighty chapters total, so this doesn’t represent one-fourth in that respect.
