Post 666!

Well, let’s check in again.

Battle Royale is going to be continuing for quite a while. So, here’s your new poll question:

I’m thinking of doing something different for Saturdays in general and not just when I can substitute someone else’s work for my own. Would you prefer:

Following up on book sequels I don’t want to spend chapter-by-chapter time on (ie, Darkest Powers)
WWZ
Miscellaneous other book reviews
Miscellaneous nonbook things (movies, games, comics)
Recs posts in particular
More Battle Royale
Something else

If you have a good idea for something else, speak up. I can’t edit the poll once I put it up and I’d like to have the thing up by the weekend.

More carapace review catch up.  I think you’re more than a year behind again!

    1. Farla says:

      T_T People keep posting things!

      1. Ember says:

That’s why it’s so important you keep posting reviews!

        1. Farla says:

I knoooooooow but they post so much! Why can’t more people be mad at me and demand I not review them, it’d speed things up.

  2. Anon says:

I like the game reviews you’ve been posting, and I really like the idea of book sequels. I’ve been curious to see how they turned out.

    1. Farla says:

Well, the current style game reviews are under the heading of stuff I make someone else do, so I’ll take that as a vote to bully them into doing more.

  3. Koby says:

Maybe keep it more versatile? Like, see what you’ve got you recently read/played/watched and want to review on Monday, post a poll, and see what people want out of that? Or solicit commenter ideas for fanfic?

    1. Farla says:

Hm. That might work, the only real problem that might come up is that people would probably be more likely to vote for what they recognize, so anything unusual would likely get ignored.

Or solicit commenter ideas for fanfic?

      What do you mean?

      1. Koby says:

You know, ask people to recommend stuff. Pick a fandom (say Hunger Games) and ask people to suggest fics in it they think you should review.

        1. Farla says:

Hm. I’m kind of leery about letting people other than the author request reviews, and in general stuff that’s popular is stuff where the author likely won’t care for advice.

Maybe something like a recs post for them?

          1. Koby says:

             Sounds good to me.

  4. bushes289 says:

I’d like to see more game reviews, but what kinds would you be doing?

    1. Farla says:

I have no idea! I don’t play games much, so I don’t have anything specific in mind.

  5. Not says:

How about something everyone likes but that it’s crap? Say, Dresden Files?

    1. Farla says:

Dresden Files would be something needing the typical chapter-by-chapter thing. It has gained my ire by people who, as you say, fail to realize it’s crap, so it should show up on the next book poll.

      1. Not says:

Oh, thank you. One thing that I kept hearing is how it got better in latter books, but it is just the same.
I have so many complaints about the series, mainly the provincialism of it, includind the fact that even though the main character is a wizard, it has a christian-centric world.

  6. Dragonfree says:

Out of those, sequel follow-up and recs posts sound the most interesting to me, I think.

  7. Negrek says:

    recs recs recs recs recs

Assuming you mean recs as in “I recommend this to you” rather than “I do/review what other people recommend,” as Koby was suggesting upthread.

    1. Farla says:

Former, it seems an important counterpoint when I’m mostly targeting things I don’t like.
