This is actually a pretty cool chapter, probably because for most of it, the viewpoint character is doing what viewpoint characters in this setup are supposed to do, and that’s shutting up and letting us observe the actual interesting people.

It had made sense when a beautiful girl was saying it. Now that I was back home, alone, and in my own bed, I was finally losing it.
See, this should actually suggest that she was using some sireny power on him, particularly because there’s otherwise no reason to put the focus on her being a “beautiful girl”.
He then honest to god recaps the entire plot so far, like the author expects we’ve forgotten. The worst part is 90% of it is what just happened last chapter.
