As an experiment, I used a variation of Enki’s disclaimer paragraph in these reviews to see if it had any effect. During this period, some trolls also reviewed (nearly) every story telling everyone to block me, so I’ve noted stories I was blocked on to gauge their success.

Story content was unfortunately unremarkable. There is a decent novelization of the RSE opening, and a multi-trainer intrigue thing that might turn out interesting but I don’t know because it spent the first several thousand words on pointless backstory.

100th post! It is extra long in celebration, compiling all the reviews it took to get me caught up in early April after Enki’s reviews. As is to be expected this batch has a wider variety than normal, yet I could not find many notable stories. There is, however, a decent fic towards the end that actually seems to be engaging with the legendaries as nature gods.

An actually good story today with a pokemon protagonist in a world that actually treats pokemon like people! I am starting to wonder if we should start a C2 for “positive pokemon treatment” stories. Unfortunately, the rest is terribly dull, and contains a greater-than-average amount of gross porn.

“I run over to the Poké Ball and grab it. I could feel rumbling inside, probably the failed efforts of the Timburr trying to escape. Now I know this adventure will be a blast.” But in better news, there is also an XY novelization with actual good writing and characterization.

Anime count: 11, plus a lot more by the same author I didn’t cover. I took a week off and now suddenly there is a ton of untagged anime fic. Probably a coincidence, but still interesting.

One pokescrewing fic that manages to be only regular romance levels of creepy, and one that does not. More positively, a fic about N that is decent but still too equivocal about the subjugation of pokemon.

A few interesting things: A fic about the discovery of pokemon written in a Victorian style, a story about helping abused pokemon, and a kid protagonist who appears to be operating purely on his lizard brain.
