Lot of fic that isn’t really fic. (more…)

NaRe 2019 Day 9 (21)
A shiny gardevoir pokefucking fic. Several outright disasters. Some that sort of but don’t quite work without more polish, and one that actually got polished up.
NaRe 2019 Day 10 (24)
Bunch of people tripping over their attempts at realism, an increasing amount of stuff that’s just humans having relationship drama, and a fic about something horrifying that apparently happened in the anime after I stopped watching. (more…)
NaRe 2019 Day 11 (17)
And now, the finish! (more…)
Obligative Review (A Blessed Life)
[16] The Other Pokereviews, Part 147
Experienced some writer’s block, so I figured it was time for some reviewing. There were a few decent fics, but nothing terribly notable aside from a pokemon rebellion fic that was actually just an edgelord post-apocalyptic story about wizards in pokemon costumes.
Anime: 4
[17] The Other Pokereviews, Part 148
Another nice pokemon story from NebulaDreams, a painfully cliché crime drama where everyone is incompetent, and a lot of nothing.
Obligative Review (Salvation)
A while back I reviewed the story Salvation. The author has since rewritten the story, and asked me to review the new version.
[22] The Other Pokereviews, Part 149
A weird story about what appears to be a self-insert replacing Lillie’s role in the plot of SuMo, a decent story about the creation of Porygon, an amusing story about an incompetent spoiled brat trainer, and a lot of grammatical incoherence.
Anime: 7
[13] The Other Pokereviews, Part 150
A decent story about an autistic kid, a Mary Sue/Mewtwo romance, and a story where Lusamine spends all her time sobbing over her losses instead of doing anything about it because she’s so pathetic and ineffectual.
Anime: 4
[18] The Other Pokereviews, Part 151
A competent but otherwise unremarkable novelization, two instances of weird untagged porn (including totally-not-incest between adopted siblings), and what looks to be an actually good grimdark Rocket takeover AU.
Anime: 6
[22] The Other Pokereviews, Part 152
Some variety today, including a story with talking pokemon that does nothing to examine the implications, and a bunch of gross porn.
Anime: 8
[21] The Other Pokereviews, Part 153
Some varying quality today. Most of the porn authors blocked me this time, interestingly.
Anime: 14
[12] The Other Pokereviews, Part 154
Standing on the corpse of its mother was a young Cyndaquil who was crying for all to hear, which would only give its location away to those Pokémon who would see it as prey. From his location, Bastion could tell that the Pokémon was male.
“Poor little guy!” Bastion muttered out and seeing that the Pokémon was all alone he decided that he was going to capture and care for him.
From the sight of the creature, Bastion guessed that he was only a few days old and even then that could be a stretch. This would allow Bastion to capture the Pokémon pretty easily since the Cyndaquil had most likely not learned how to properly defend himself yet.
A few decent fics in addition to this, though.
Anime: 4
[17] The Other Pokereviews, Part 155
A lot of stories that don’t go anywhere; a pokemon empath who appears to be going on a regular trainer journey; and an intriguing story about an oranguru who acts as the team’s trainer after their human dies.
